THEY NEED TO SERIOUSLY SHORTEN PRESEASON

Injuries occur no matter what week. If the preseason was shortened Osi would have just been injured week 1. Pre season is very important. If any week 4 in the preseason is the one that should be cut.

If they cut week 4 out of the preseason, it wouldn't change anything. People would just rest their starters in week 3, and give them extended action in week 2. If anything, it would lead to more injuries since starters would be playing a week more of football (assuming that training camp would be the same length).

Also, players can be injured at any time in football, whether it's on the practice field, in the game, or even at home. Players hurt themselves horsing around on jet skis, slipping on hamburger wrappers, or even in random acts of violence. To say that Osi wouldn't have gotten injured if preseason was shortened seems sort of simplistic...

How do you know what teams would do? Are you sure they'd give the starters exteneded time in week 2? Why would intelligent coaches put their starters out there longer? They wouldn't. I said if any shortening was to be done, cut the last week. Those are players on the bubble fighting for babckup backup jobs. I'm pretty sure they can determine those positions if needed be in training camp practices.

You said the same thing I did. The original poster said cut the pre season shorter to cut out on on field injuries. It doesn't matter what week they play in the injury would have occured.
