Michael jenkins

I have really been a critical guy as far as our wr's go especially when it comes to jenkins. I thought that he had the height and jumping ability to make plays on the ball but he lacked a burst and deep speed. I had no idea that he was a very clutch receiver in college and it was sited thta he made big play after big play. I just did a little searching on him just to see why we drafted him in the 1st round but I think now i understand why. check out a clip from one of his good games

I love mike vick for what he did on the field and the dimensions he brought to the game but much like his legendary ability to scramble ******** his own growth as a qb it also ******** the growth of non- veteran wr like finneran. Just lloking at the vid mike had a swagger in college and he lost it. last week the dep pass that redman threw to him should have been caught or at least mike should have at least try to bat it down and become the defender even offensive PI would hae been better than an int. I really believe now more than ever that heart and desire are the main reason why guys without the explosive eye popping combines can still become the hines wards and the Demeco ryans of the NFL. we have seen how roddy white was mentally tough enough to take the criticism and convert it to motivation and from motivation to success on the field and unfortunately I have yet to see th desire from jenkins outside of his 8 td year and a lot of that came over a 4 game stretch. So what I hope for and Im sure most fans of the falcon fam can agree with is that mike has a few games that build his confidences and that will springload his long............................................................................

.

........................................................................... long awaited breakout. Just dont give up on him so as long as he's in a falcons uni I wont

He also had 3 nice clutch catches last week. You can't believe every people type on the MSG Boards. You have to know the player for yourself and make up your own mind and support that with facts.... B)

I've been real critical of Jenkins as well, mainly because he hasn't played as advertised yet. He has been ok, but definitely not a first round pick. I like some of what I have seen from him so far this preseason. There have been a few that he should have caught and looked like the Michael Jenkins of old, but maybe this is a year he can turn it around. With Roddy having the year he did, maybe that is motivation enough for him to become a "clutch" kind of WR. Maybe Roddy has tried to help him a little bit. Who knows. But I'm thinking he might not have the same old "Pick Six" type of year. I really hope he can step it up. If he did, just imagine if Robinson and Douglas have a good year along with him and Roddy. "sighs" Imagine the possibilities. Endless!

yeah I think he and roddy are close but if he had the desire that is needed he can do many things like work with the qb after practice getting more reps in timing, spending extra timecatching footballs from the machine ans working out to beat the jam. Jenkins is probably our best blocking wr and he seems to get enoug seperaion on route that is non vertical rots like ins/outs slants but he may not have the speed for drags unnless he's in the slot I want to see his height put to use like on curls

Finn and Jenks are really good run-blocking WR's, so that goes to their credit. I really like the lineup of Roddy, Laurent, and Douglas right now. If Jenks were to work his way into deserving a spot with those guys, that would be flippin amazing. We would have a nasty 5 wr set with Finn added too. Anyways, I haven't seen a lot of desire from Jenkins, but I hope he shows it, and until then, I'd rather have him on the field in a run play than most of our other receivers.

Jenkins will never be an elite WR in this league, but he has the most experience on our team besides Finn now, and he has 14 td's in the past 3 years. thats more than anyone else can say so he should make the team. But no way in my mind should he be the starter. Roddy is clearly our #1 and I believe that Laurent gives us our best option at #2. Douglas it remains to be seen so for now put jenkins at #3 and douglas @ #4 until he matures into a better receiver. I think our receving core will be fine, especially with laurent and roddy. Now the question is how well Hartsock can perform in the passing game.

i would put jenkins in the slot he sould beat#3 corners or olb's but harry douglass may be better. At worst he can be a redzone specialist and work the middle. His style of play was not suited for any coach moreso than moras it playcalling had him on slants posts and curls. he is a bit of a tweener at wr. he's not a speed guy he ran a 4.58 offiial so id project now he's a 4.55-4.50 guy and he's not quite a possession guy because he's kinda thin for his height so his reall advantage is his ability to outjump db's but somehow ol' jenks gets open tho so y]there is good potential

Some of you need to be real Falcons fans, and just admit. He hasn't been on a bread and butter team in the NFL. He has been in multiple offense in his career. Trust me, Roddy will get so much attention. Jenkins will shine. I think that Matt Ryan like throwing to Jenkins more so than White.

Jenkins looked very good tonight and that is a good thing for us because Roddy Is going to get a lot of attention from our opponents and Ryan seems to like throwing to Jenkins. Props to The Last Don for calling this before the game.

I don't think he will be anything more than a possession receiver, but if he can be like Brian Finneran has to us, than he definitely has value as a 3rd/4th receiver. Regardless, his catch two years ago against the Steelers was one of my favorites of all time.
