jes2400
We all watched in amasement as Grady Jackson dropped back into coverage last week.I personally think he did a good job,but is was fun watching him run.Do you think that would be an effective play?I think it could be if used at the right time.He could disrupt those short timing routes if he catches them off guard.I mean nobody in the stadium exept the Falcons expected Jackson to drop back into coverage.I can hear the play by play now if he got an INT:"The QB throws the ball and Wait!Grady Jackson drops back and Intercepts the ball!He sprints down the sideline!Okay, mabye sprint isn't the right word.He races,no that's not it either. He lumbers down the sideline and no one's going to catch hi....o wait, yes they will, and he's down, but what a great play by Jackson and the Falcons now have the ball!" . All joking aside,I do think Jackson dropping back would work and if these are some of the plays and twists Mike Smith and staff are going to do this should be a fun team to watch! He's not working out at DE....
Sun Tzu 7
If it was a zone blitz Grady dropped too far into coverage IMO.And if it's a zone blitz the d-lineman dropping into coverage is supposed to suprise the QB.You can see Grady drop into coverage from the Moon.... so he's not suprising anyone. stumpjumper
I imagine he'd be pretty hard to bring down if he started running back a INT...of course, it wouldn't be very hard to catch him either, lol!

Theyhateme : )
Nice idea, the guy HAS to be good at something.I'd also start Kroy on the left end then J. Anderson, nose tackle and ABE...
stumpjumper
I'd also start Kroy on the left end then J. Anderson, nose tackle and ABE...Isn't Kroy still a little undersized to be a every down DE?
Theyhateme : )
Isn't Kroy still a little undersized to be a every down DE?He and ABE are about the same I thought...
stumpjumper
He and ABE are about the same I thought...I could be wrong then, just I think I keep hearing he's a little undersized.
1989Fan
i think abe is like 260 ish and Kroy is 240ish. thats a big difference if those weights are on point. I am going of the top of my head though, so its def not gospel.
Theyhateme : )
I could be wrong then, just I think I keep hearing he's a little undersized. You're right: ABEs a full inch taller and about 20 + lbs heavier....so yeah....probably not an every down DE...
