Once in a lifetime opportunity: "Splitting the T" in Knoxville

OK. I've got tickets to the UT/UF game in Knoxville. I'll be part of the Vol Navy before the game. I get to tour the facilities and lockerroom and also have the opportunity to "Split the T" and run out on the field in front of 108,000 people. Thing is, I'm a diehard Gator fan. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity though. Should I do this?

Oh, and another thing. They said I have to wear Tennessee orange. I don't have to wear any Tennessee apparel, just their color orange.

I told them I'd wear my Gator gear underneath and once I split the T, I'd run out to midfield, rip off the Tennessee orange shirt and do the Gator Chomp at the 50 yard line. They told me I'd probably be escorted out by security if I did that.

What should I do?

That is worth getting escorted for do it.

Wait did you pay for the tickets?

I think I'm going to do it. Nothing crazy. Even though it is the Florida game, I can't pass up this opportunity.

Yeah I understand it would be fun to be crazy and do somethin off the wall, but frankly it's a privilege doing that and it will be something you will remember for your entire life and I would just enjoy the moment and then enjoy the thrashing of ut, i mean the game.

I say split the T and then rip off the shirt to reveal your gator shirt

I agree... That's the only way I'd be able to do something like this on a rival team's field...

Being escorted out by security would be well worth it... You wouldn't have to buy yourself a beer for the entire remainder of the season... :D

Obviously I am a Michigan fan, if Ohio State offered me a chance to watch the game from the sideline and $20,000.00 and all I had to do was dot the I in Ohio State I would spit in the guys face that ask me. If you are a real Gator you would not consider this unless you are going balls out and going to do the Gator Chomp at mid-field. **** at least do the Gator Chomp while your running out and splitting the T.

Just My Opinion.

You gotta do the Gator chomp while running through the T, it will be the greatest thing ever. Running through a punch of people shaped as a 'T' isn't that much of a privilege.

What WOULD be a privilege is to listen to 100,000 people boo the **** out of you and then get extremely pissed off at the university and the pre-game event coordinators for letting a Gator fan split the T.

Do something you'll be remembered for.

What is the meaning behind splitting the T, or is it just one of those things that has always been done?:huh:

It's just a Tennessee tradition, kind of like Dotting the I. That's why I say it's not much of a privilege, because you're a Gator fan participating in a Tennessee tradition. **** no I wouldn't just run out there and 'enjoy the moment.' How could you possibly enjoy running out of Tennessee's tunnel while Tennessee fans cheer you. Ugh, it'd make me sick.

If anything he should do the Gator chomp just for the fact that Tennessee makes everyone listen to that horrible, grotesque, evil song Rocky Top.

Maybe his fanhood should be called into question. :P :P ;);)
