Sad day, Braves' fans....

Recommended Posts

Glad to see Corky go. He looked like a guy who got lost on his way to a city league softball game. But does it seem like the Braves are just flailing these days much like our dysfunctional Falcons? Send Franceour down for a"minimum of ten days" and then pull him up in three. We are buyers! Wait, we lost three games! We are sellers! From Flowery Branch all this reactionary behavior is biz as usual but it seems an odd fit at Turner Field. This year cannot end soon enough.

LOL at "my boy" Royce Ring. The only point I was trying to get across the other day is that when he's pitching within his role (facing one LH batter per game with runners on base) he has been pretty good. He's a terrible guy to have come in and pitch an inning. I'm not going by stats, but I'd have to imagine RH batters kill him.

And I agree with you that it seems like a waste just having a guy come in and face one batter every few games, but most teams have the same thing.

RH batters are hitting .421, with a .444 OBP, .684 SLG, and 22 runs scored (in 38 ABs).

One of the dumbest decisions the Braves have ever made was keeping Corky f'ing Miller over Brayan Pena or Javy Lopez. I still don't understand what they were thinking, especially after the aforementioned two completely outplayed Miller during Spring Training.

I agree with that... especially Brayan Pena... I know the guy was never going to be an allstar but he could catch and play other positions in a utility role as well.. That move really puzzled me... At the time I wasn't as concerned because I didn't realize the lack of catching depth we actually have in the organization... Now however in the past year we have traded Salty, released Pena, cut Javy, traded Fasano, cut Corky, and called up Sammons... The minor leagues catching depth has got to be on thin ice

Yeah the Braves either need to try to make a move for a catching prospect or make that their first pick next year.
