My projected 52.

Recommended Posts

Quaterback:

1. Matt Ryan

2. Chris Redman

3. DJ Shockley

-Harrington won't be sticking around.

Running Back:

1. Michael Turner

2. Jerious Norwood

3. Thomas Brown

-Brown should make the team on special teams over Snelling.

Full Back:

1. Ovie Mughelli

2. Corey McIntyre

-McIntyre is a very good special teams player.

Wide Receivers:

1. Roddy White

2. Laurent Robinson

3. Harry Douglass

4. Michael Jenkins

5. Adam Jennings

-I think Horn will be traded or granted his release. Finneran, though I like him, will be release because he isn't much of a special teamer.

Tight End:

1. Ben Harstock

2. Martrez Milner

3. Jason Zinger

-Milner will serve as an HB and Zinger will make it on special teams over the others.

Offensive Line:

1. Sam Baker

2. Justin Blalock

3. Todd McClure

4. Tyson Clabo

5. Todd Weiner

6. Renardo Foster

7. Harvey Dahl

8. Quinn Ojinnaka

9. Alex Stepnovich

-I think Forney's days are numbered. I love the Clabo/Blalock combination @ guard. If Weiners elbow flares up again, Foster will not be a drop off.

Corner Back:

1. Chris Houston

2. Brent Grimes

3. Chevis Jackson

4. David Irons

5. Antoine Harris

-The 5th CB is hard to predict, but Harris is a bigger CB. Better for the Cover2.

Safety:

1. Lawyer Milloy

2. Erik Coleman

3. Thomas DeCoud

4. Darren Stone

-If Stone gets the axe, I like Cooper's chances.

Defensive End:

1. John Abraham

2. Jamal Anderson

3. Kroy Biermann

4. Chauncey Davis

-Moorehead and Babineaux can fill in @ DE in an emergency.

Defensive Tackle:

1. Grady Jackson

2. Jonathan Babineaux

3. Rashad Moore

4. Kindal Moorehead

-This leave Stanley out of the picture. Moore might get the axe, but I would love to keep the 2 massive bodies.

Linebacker:

1. Michael Boley

2. Keith Brooking

3. Curtis Lofton

4. Tony Taylor

5. Stephen Nicholas

6. Coy Wire

7. Robert James

8. Cameron Vaughn

-Wire, James, and Vaughn for special teams. Wire was the Bills ST captain last year.

Special Teams:

1. Jason Elam

2. Michael Koenan

3. Long Snapper

I did this off the top of my head, let me know if I left anyone off.

I agree with everything. I'd LOVE to see Shockley stay, however I think that we're going to try to keep experienced players around Ryan.

1. Redman

2. Ryan

3. Harrington

Sorry GAFan....I hope DJ stays, though

Thanks for the reply. I have to disagree about Harrington. I don't think the Falcon's staff wants Harrington's experience rubbing off on Ryan.

Not only that, I wouldn't put it past Mularkey to want to keep Shockley for his famous gimmick plays.

4. Michael Jenkins

5. Adam Jennings

I guess you haven't ever watched a Falcons game before, Finneran is a **** of a special teams player.

I"m starting to think Finneran has the best shot at being our 5th reciever, provided he stays healthy.

Horn doesn't want to be here, and Finneran is a better ST player than Jennings or Horn, and Jennings' return skills(or lack thereof) can easily be replaced by Brown, Norwood or Grimes.

Finneran is the best ST of the entire receiving core. He is a great blocker and a sure tackler with decent speed. He is also a big target with sticky hands.

No way Finneran gets cuts if healthy, Grimes or T. Brown will take over PR duties so I think Jennings gets the AXE. I hope.

Deke Cooper will make the squad over one of those LBs you can't afford to overload one position that heavily. Cooper is a ST killer, so that's why he'll make the squad imo.

The Long Snapper position can also be handled by a TE/LB anyway. So, it's going to be interesting to see, but I think you're wrong on the DL, there has to be at LEAST 1 more DL kept, because you have to rotate constantly, Stanley will stick around imo.

You just can't imagine keeping an entire DL healthy enough to only carry 8. Gotta have 9 maybe 10.

In terms of OL, 9 is a high number imo, sure you'd like to keep a backup for every position, but when you have a guy like Clabo who is a Guard and Tackle then that's where you can fudge on at least 1 of those guys allowing the number to be 8 on the OL a lot easier.
