LaMont Jordan per Rotoworld

"Raiders released RB LaMont Jordan, according to NFL Network's Adam Schefter.

New Orleans will likely pursue Jordan, but Schefter interestingly mentions the Patriots as potential suitors. Jordan has chronic back injuries and turns 30 soon, but he could function as a change of pace back or third-down specialist. He's the best free agent back available right now."

I'm worried about the Saints improving their run game. Reggie Bush is not a problem, and the Deuce has been injured. LaMont Jordan has had some injury, but is a very good back I would not want to go against, it's not like he is Cedric Benson. Plus he will likely go for cheap. This could really hurt us.

Me neither. He has MAJOR durability injuries...

But he is split with another guy who major durability issues. If he was their main back, I wouldn't worry. But with Jordan backing up Deuce, they could put together a season of a serious run game. He is a really good back, that might hurt us if he goes to NO. The really good back backing up their other really good back is dangerous.

Uh oh, I hear the Jets just released their waterboy. I guess the Saints are interested.

*sarcasm off*

I mean, jeez guys...Are you guys gonna puss out everytime the 'Aints do something?

STAT, THEY'RE PUTTING SOME PRETTY GOOD HORSES IN THE BARN. THEY'RE NOT GOING TO USE JORDAN EVERY DOWN. BUT THEY HAVE A SMART COACH WHO KNOWS WHEN TO PULL THE TRIGGER. NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO ON OFFENSE, THE SAINT "D" STILL SUCKS.

I'm starting to worry about their D. I wanted Ellis if Dorsey was gone (we passed on both), they have 2 great DE's, Fujita and Vilma at LB, McKenzie at CB. Bringing in Ellis is a big move, and they do have a good number of players on defense. I just really hope this isn't the year their D doesn't come together, but they haven't been a pushover for our offense the past few years.

And yes, fear the signing of Jordan. This won't be like Steckler (or something like that) backing up Deuce, it will be an actual RB. I swear, if the Saints look at him, it would be worth a million a year to keep him away from there.

Let me tell you from personal experience. Once you start having back problems, you will continue to have them and durability is a major issue here. If he signs with the Ain'ts, I'll betcha he won't play half the season.

You should try yoga. I've had back problems from rugby since about 2000, and when I'm doing yoga regularly, they all but disappear.
