Jason Snelling vs. Thomas Brown

Man, I really liked Snelling last year. Dude can break some tackles, especially when the best Dunn could do was get stuffed at the line. I think Snelling will be kept for depth, but I hope he gets some playing time. Brown hasn't show anything Snelling has. Worst case, Snelling should be able to backup our big back in Turner. I'd love it if he got 3-5 touches a game, I think he would impress. But I could see a fullback/halfback roll.

Exactly I think we need a bigger back as the 3rd string in case Turner goes down then Norwood can at least keep a similar split going with them.

Last year was a strange year for how players were used.  Snelling played good in preseason, so they end up not using him in the reagular season?  At the very least special teams.

Snelling was used after Petrino high tailed it. I think he averaged like 5 yards per carry. Played very well. Plus preseason was impressive. I would honestly hate to lose him.

Edit: woops, looks like 3.3 YPC. Stuffed at the line just like I said about Dunn in the TB and Seattle game. But he did have 2 attempts for 18 yards against Arizona. 2 attempts for 13 yards in our first TB game too.

Not perfect, but for a rookie 7th rounder playing with what played with last year, I'm still impressed.

I still stand by the idea he can be utilized. And played very well as an everydown type in preseason.
