Redskins get DE Taylor from Dolphins after Daniels goes down

Associated Press

ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins traded for defensive end Jason Taylor on Sunday, sending two draft picks to the Miami Dolphins.

Jason Taylor, DE

Washington Redskins

2007 Statistics:

Tackles: 56

Sacks: 11

Interceptions: 1

The Redskins gave the Dolphins a second-round pick in 2009 and a sixth-round pick in 2010.

Washington executive vice president Vinny Cerrato said Taylor is expected to report to Redskins training camp on Monday.

The deal came only hours after the Redskins lost starting defensive end Phillip Daniels to a season-ending knee injury.

So, do all those wonderful predictions that the DOlphins will have a better season than us go away without their best defensive player?

Parcells is picking 1st overall again on 09....... the dolphins has zero pass rushers....Joey Porter is way past his time(and he did that in a 1 year time)...... but for the redskins..... this is Huge....... The skins 1 down fall was their lack of pass rush...... thats no more

See though? Even an excellent all star performer like Jason taylor is worth a second and a sixth the year after, for all the whiners about Hall./

even tho he is old is dirt.... he was just the Defensive MVP 2 seasons ago.........

1 good thing tho.... atleast we now know that Offensive Tackle will not be the 1st overall pick in the 2009 nfl draft .. :P

There is no way I would give a second and a sixth round pick for one season from a player, and I don't care who it is. I believe taylor said he was retiring after this season, so that much for one year is dumb imo.

That's what I was thinking. This trade really makes me wonder what a team like the Bucs would be willing to give up to get Favre.

THERE BEST TWO DEFENSIVE PLAYERS ...... THEY LET ZACK THOMAS GET AWAY TOO. THE DOLPHINS WEREN'T GOING TO BE BETTER THAN US WITH  THESE TWO TOP DEFENDERS.:)
