Matt Ryan's political views, to my surprise

Recommended Posts

Personally I don't care for either candidate, I think both will do more harm than good, face it both parties are for the wealthy, and could care less about the middle class except at election time, I'm sick of the partisan politics from both sides, and think that it is time for a new 3rd political party in this country, one that TRULY represents the people, of all classes. There is so much wrong with this country right now, nobody is gonna fix it, I don't care who it is, we need a complete overhaul of government period.

I so agree with this. Even worse, is that Congressmen only do what lobbyists tell them to do. Our country is run by people on the take. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part, that is what happens.

I would have pegged Matt Ryan to be a republican considering his seemingly conservative upbringing, but to my surprise he's not. As a card carrying diehard liberal myself I was pleasantlyamused to find he will supporting Barack Obama in the election. My apologies toSteve Barkowski and other GOP posters, but here it is.

I have lost a little respect for him now. Obama is a fraud and will destroy this country, same with mccain.

Wow, then we are screwed either way.  I myself think Obama is good for this country.  I mean Bush has robbed us blind and we won't even talk about his father or the late Mr. Ronald Reagan.  Those presidents hurt our economy and history proves it....  When Bill was in office, employment was up from the last two president tenure, the middle class ruled and life was great.  I mean, I use to travel back to my home town twice a month but right now it is tough to go once a month.  We need change and it cannot get any worse if we try Obama.  If we elect McCain, then he has already said he was not bringing the troops home and he is supporting all of Bush's plans that are already in existance.  Vote OBAMA....

Whats obamas plan?Mccains wanted the surge before bush did and its working. The sham is the troops arent leaveing iraq or afghanistan no matter whos in office.Whats obama done?No record.Whats his plan?No details.Clinton banned offshore drilling 10 years ago.The chickens have come home to roost.Your going to blame a oil man for us not drilling?

OMG!!!!  I agree with you 100% on this!!!  Not always agreeing about the Falcons, but looks like we definitely agree in politics

Ryan is too young to know better. When he see's what the lunatic Democrats will do in taxing his fortune..................take 50% for themselves, he will change like a blitz is coming !!!

He was brain washed by those liberal professors at BC...and from the liberal media in Mass...Being away from that extreme liberal state, and coming to the conservative south...He will learn....also, when he see's how much he actually brings home after taxes....then he will really open his eyes

I can believe that, this is the only thing I've heard about Matt I don't care for , but it's a free country and this country may get more than they bargain for , The Blind leading the Blind and boht will fall in the ditch.

Everyone keeps saying Matt Ryan will switch over to republican once he sees how much he will get taxed, but I doubt that. He is a smart guy and is fully aware his signing bonus makes him wealthier than 99.9% of the population, and knows a democratic president and congress is going to tax him, but is voting for Barack Obama anyway because he realizes more taxes for him means one less yacht, but could lesses the tax burden on those of modest means. I think that's commendable, he's a not a selfish person and sees that there are others less fortuante than him.

He also said in that article that he felt Notre Dame would improve from an 0-3 start. He was wrong w/ that so maybe with him coming to the "Bible Belt", he will realize he is wrong about Hussein Obama.

hussein obama?? we go by middle then last?? wow some people really hate obama. what if saddam's last name was smith or john? then we hate john McCain.

Man the ignorance of the reps on this board is crazy. Not Steve he can hold his crazy against any1.

He went to Boston College, it doesn't get much more liberal than that.

Berzerkely has it by a mile.

Hopefully Ryan will do what many young lads do as they get older and wiser and see through liberal hack phonies like Obama that will seriously harm this country if elected.

Nothing the matter with being liberal per se (although see most liberals as idealistic) , but Obama is liberal to an extreme and he would harm this country. Be careful what you ask for folks, you might just get it.

Tax and spend Democrates vs. borrow and spend Republicans!

sucks when our choice is the lesser of two evils, isn;t it?

Bush spent way, way, way, way too much for my tastes. I don;t think McCain would be near as bad as Bush but I do know Obama would be just as bad if not considerably worse. Just listen to all the new social programs Obama speaks about...big government sucks.

McCain can claim to be against earmarks as he does not take them for his state now. McCain has led against earmarks and slammed democrats and republicans for these blatently irresponsible programs you see stuffed into bills the night before votes.

Neither candidate makes me very happy, but at least McCain isn;t a bortderline socialist that thinks America is bad at heart.

Everyone is a bleeding heart liberal when they are young and stupid. Then the ones that grow up and get jobs become conservatives.

Many do folow this path as the light turns on for them and they can start sifting through the rhetoric. When they start funding a 401K and realize that taxing corporations IS taxing them or that when you raise capital gains taxes it can also tax them if they have investments like  homes, land and the like. When they about only taxing the "rich" can mean THEM by democratic standards despite them struggling to make ends meet.

They start learning that having the goverment run healthcare is a terrifying notion and they can see where that would lead in less than a decade. It's so terrifying I have already started looking at other ways for healthare outside the US where it will be much better than socialized healthcare here.

I am no John McCain fan by any stretch of the imagination, but Obama would destroy our healcare system to the point it may never recover.

Here is the political snippet from the interview.

What s your take on the presidential race?

It s so early. I m actually kind of a Barack fan. I think I m a Barack guy. I think it s a good fit at the right time. I have a gut feeling and that s the kind of person I am.

Fresh out of college, he doesn't know enough to make an educated decision.

I don't care who he votes for, I just want him to lead this team.
