Mark Richt Pleased With Young Talent.

There was plenty of praise for some of Georgia's young football talent this spring. Now those players are starting to make a dent on the Bulldogs' depth chart heading into August preseason practices.

Freshman receiver Tavarres King is listed ahead of senior Demiko Goodman and redshirt freshman Walter Hill at split end, where Kenneth Harris and Kris Durham are 1-2. Harris was named the best all-around offensive player in the spring and Durham the most improved receiver.

Freshman Richard Samuel is the third-string tailback behind Knowshon Moreno and Caleb King. Samuel, an early enrolee who was named the biggest offensive surprise of the spring, is ahead of Kalvin Daniels, a walk-on who is still listed ahead of another promising freshman, Dontavius Jackson.

"Those guys made runs that were exciting," coach Mark Richt said. "I'm not saying they passed Caleb by any stretch but you want to see potential in those guys. Even if he does something 10 times, if he does it once in spectacular fashion you know in time he can probably do it on a more consistent basis."

Freshman Ben Jones is listed behind Chris Davis at center, but Davis could move back to guard, clearing the way for Jones to start.

"We could have one freshman and four sophomores starting up front, which is still a very young team up front," Richt said.

Other depth chart changes from the pre-spring depth chart:

Michael Moore has moved up to second-team flanker behind Mohamed Massaquoi.

John Knox is the backup behind safety Reshad Jones and ahead of Donavan Baldwin.

Justin Houstin has moved up to third-string defensive end behind Jeremy Lomax and Michael Lemon.

Georgia is already listing incoming freshman Blair Walsh as first-team kicker ahead of Drew Butler and wallk-ons Andrew Jenson and Brian Behr.

thats good for tavarres but really bad for goodman because if im correct he is a senior. Demiko has spped to stretch the field but theres something missing and its really hurting him

Tavarress king is now 181 and will be about 185 when fall practice starts. T King will be awesome this year. Great hands and tremendous route running and speed.. I am loving it. You add in AJ Green that is doing great. He has shown zero issues getting off the line of scrimmage, very good route running, tremendous hands. Goodman won't do jack this year IMO. We have enough talent not to worry. Bobo is going to use 4 WRs more than anyone would have imagined this year.
