PLATINUMBIRDZ2
The ticker on NFLN states falcons training camp has been canceled? WTF?
magnus23
Camp is obviously not canceled. There was a three-day mini-camp scheduled later this month that was canceled in lieu of weight room work.

bakerball
RICARDO VIALPANDO (6/19/2008)The ticker on NFLN states falcons training camp has been canceled? WTF?Coach Smith said the players would still be at the facility working in the weight room all week. I don't think they need to see them running around in shorts anymore. woodstockfan
Woodson was talking about this on nfl network last night. He said with today's OTA's there was not really a need for mini camps. He said the coaches have already seen what the players can do in shorts; he also said some players are great in shorts, but not in pads and visa versa. Mini camp would be merely be more of the same of what they already know from OTA's. Time would be better spent working on strength and conditioning. bozoatl
Plus - if I remember correctly, it was listed as a voluntary mini camp. Anyway, Coach Smith & Co. decided to let the guys have the extra days off, but they are under orders to maintain their weight training regimens from now until TC in July. It'd be nice if everyone was settled and all 11 picks ready to go in July. Just a thought.
