Receivers.....who makes the cut?

Recommended Posts

Greetings from the Arizona, Yes, I moved and now live in Tucson leaving Maryland with all it's crime and chaos. I think we will keep 6 wr's this year. Those being White, Robinson, Douglas, Jenkins, Finns and Kinoshita. I think he will stick as a return/special teams player. I also think that he will be a big draw to the Japanese in the area. The Japanese tend to worship their athletes and follow them all around. Good PR move on our part and would help erase the nightmare of petrino.

I'd like to see White, Robinson, Douglas, Jenkins, and Finneran...but honestly I don't see what there is we can do with Joe Horn other than just keep him around for a while. Nobody would trade anything for a 36 year old receiver with 3 years left on his contract. And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he guaranteed a nice chunk of money this year, thus causing a bit of a painful cap hit if we were to cut him?

It might be the best thing to do is just cut him. Sure it will hurt financially, but if the dude don't wanna be here, then show him the door. If I were the falcons, I'd take a coke and a bag of chips for him and call it a day. Horn had the chance to be a leader, instead he became a whiner. Instead of standing up and say that I'm here to help the Falcons turn it around, he ran off to the ajc and cried how nobody appreciates him and he wants to be traded. addition by subtraction is probably the best course for the Falcons now.

Is not that he wants out but he wants to play and he feels like certain personel decisions are already being made before the season in regards to WR. He feels like even if he proves himself he will only be a situational WR and he wants to be an every down WR. Can't knock him for that and it's not like he's being a distraction just expressing his desire to play and his concern.

I'm thinking 4 are a lock and Horn and Finneran are the big question marks. You never know if a young no name guy will surprise, but it's likely Roddy White, Laurent Robinson, Michael Jenkins, Harry Douglas for sure and even the coaches may have no idea about Horn and Finn at this point.

I don't see us keeping 6 unless someone really surprises & can play a role on ST's.

White

Robinson

Douglas

Jenkins

Finneran (if the knee holds up) -- Jennings if Finn is done

Horn I believe is out, but he's washed up anyway & I don't think he'd make the roster.

The surprise guy I like is Eric Weems.

I think Gonzales is here to give Ryan a TC guy he's familiar with to throw to some while he adjusts to the NFL. He's got a shot at a practice squad deal, but I don't think he makes the final roster.

for those of yall who pick finn...sheesh. he can make a good catch i'll give him that. but do u think he'll be able to be mobile with his knee gone the way it is?

All Finn will need to do is run a corner fade route and outreach those short CBs trying to cover him.  "TOUCHDOWN ATLANTA"
