Shaud
michaelgee (6/15/2008)Vick was a gimmick. He was a ball hog without enough intelligence to be patient and let the other players do what the plays called for. Rather than be patient and wait for plays to develop, he would break and run.Look at the record, the Vick era gave us .500 teams and nothing better. In the one playoff season, if Vick had the ability to pass we could have won. With Vick it was ALL or NONE. Stop Vick and you stop the Falcons.Vick was a One Trick Pony. His passing game consisted of Alge. What else was there?I am glad he is gone. You can't be serious right about now but then again you're the same person that once saidA) "Petrino will be great in Atlanta because he doesn't have Michael Vick to screw up his playbook. "Jamaal Anderson had 2 less sacks then a Pro Bowler named Warren Sapp so that is a positive"
nobkowski
Ookie was not a leader, he was a quiter, but we were stuck with him.Blessing from disaster.
Ric Roc
Bring It (6/14/2008)The summer and fall of 2007 couldn't have been worse, even if Hollywood wrote the script. A trainwreck beyond description. As the 2007 season progressed, the stench only got worse. Then the total nightmare departure of Mr. Loyalty himself...........Quitrino.From those ashes, this franchise has been completely REBORN, starting with the hiring of Thomas Dimitroff and then Mike Smith. The future has never looked brighter, team chemistry is at the highest level ever. Excellent young talent on both sides of the ball. Enthusiasm everywhere. The disaster of 2007 has turned into a true........BLESSING IN DISGUISE.IN SPADES. While I share your excitement for the future, the future looked much after the 1998 SB run, and even brighter than that after the 2004 NFCCG run... I thought there was no stopping us!But no use dwelling on the past...here's to a bright and prosperous future!Go Falcons!
Ric Roc
mr pickle (6/14/2008)miKevicK777 (6/14/2008)blahid rather have the team building off of mike vick, roddy white, jerious norwood, (daren mcfadden who we might have drafted if vick didnt kill dogs), Dhall, and crumpleri understand where ur coming from but i dont think vick going to jail was a blessing in disguise for this franchiseOn the football field, I prefer Vick to Ryan...Yes, I do. That said, I far prefer Smith to Petrino, Dimitroff to Mckay, our draft this year to previous drafts, our philosophy, and our new team chemistry. That entire previous team was poorly designed and carried by one player(vick), and until last season happened, we didn't realized quite how pathetic they were. Now we know, and we are moving to correct it.I would not be at all surprised if in 2-3 years time, this Falcons team is better than any Vick led team, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.Well said! He was a ball hog without enough intelligence to be patient and let the other players do what the plays called for. What else was there?I am glad he is gone.doesnt that show what a bad supporting cast vick had? i mena if you stop one player and the rest of the team cant get it done, the theres a problem. with that said, i am looking forward to a hopefully above .500 season. i do believe in the next 2-3 years, with the right draft picks, we can become playoff contenders again. i cant wait! burdman
these clowns were saying the same thing about Matty Bust that they were saying about Harrington. Next year this time, they'll be making excuses for Bust and saying how we're gonna make the playoffs because of who we decide to draft in round one. Draftnut57
I agree , the house cleaning will help us bigtime. Me Hall will never lose another game for us single handed again! I have never been so put our with one player in one game before that one. Now when they clean out from under the rug will be ready , that will take one more year, but the those humps will show up in the rug by the end of this season and then we can finish sweeping.
