Brian
I am confused. Everyone, including myself, has Otah slated as a RT in the NFL. But I just remembered that he played LT in college. He probably has the highest ceiling of any OL in this draft, but he is unrefined and I don't think he can be thrown in right away at LT if that is where he will play. So:1) Is Otah an LT or RT in the NFL?2) How would you feel if the Falcons traded down and took Otah to be the franchise LT?
Kayoh
He has more natural feet than Jake Long, and he's much better at drive blocking than Ryan Clady. He can play either position, but would excel at LT just as much, if not more than at RT because of his incredible feet. Great feet is something that you can't just teach somebody, and it's probably the most underrated, and actually probably the most important aspect of pass protection. Scott24Falcons
People look at his massize size and automatically think RT. I disagree. He's a tremendous athlete for someone of that size. He has nice footwork, and I believe after a couple years of playing RT for a team, he could be a LT.I wouldn't have much of a problem if we traded down and drafted him, but there are a couple other guys I'd rather have at around the 12-20 range: Brian Brohm and Chris Williams. If we could get picks 12(Maybe Denver wants Clady so badly that they trade up?) and 16(I don't know why, but Minnesota would probably snatch up Brohm at 17), we could get Williams and Brohm, and that would be an incredible day. DrDetecto
I would love to have him, except apparently he's lazy and has questionable desire. That's a big no no for me and takes him off my board. He's an amazing physical specimen though.

jidady
The best young LT in the NFL is Jason Peters. Physically, Otah is the closest thing to him this year (or last year for that matter). That makes him intriguing although his play to date hasn't justified his hype.
The Don™
the same question has been raised about carl nicks, who's stock is now in free fall for off-field issues. I think it is being over rated IMO. It was only a "failure to disperse from a party" and "inamte of a disorderly house". Nothing serious IMO. I think he would be a steal in the third IMO. I think he would be a steal in the third IMO.he has had previous off-field issues, which is why it is so concerning. since the previous ones he had been squeaky clean, but he slipped up pretty close to the draft. not to mention it was bad enough for the coach to ban him from his own pro-day. i dont think its serious enough to drop him from the mid 2nd all the way out of the top 75-80 by itself, but coupled with previous off field problems i think it might be. someone will take a chance on him in the mid 3rd i think, and could get lucky with him. i just hope he gets drafted late enough to push greco to us at #98, that would be a fantastic pick imo. i like that much more than nicks anywhere in the 3rd. again, that one isolated incident isnt horrible, but it isnt unimportant. coupled with previous ones it makes it a bigger issue, and i think that pushes him into the mid 3rd where someone takes a risk on him. hornsmd
I think Otah is a RT to begin with and when he gets better with his work ethic and technique he will be a dominant LT.
Scott24Falcons
I'd happily take the next Michael Roos as our future LT. Maybe Sam Baker is just that.

Similar to Jake Long, where he plays on the line will be determined by the offensive scheme the team that takes him runs. Long & Otah are powerful blockers who may struggle some at LT in a passing offense or finesse blocking OL scheme. In those schemes, they may be better fits at RT. However in a power offensive scheme, I think either will perform well at LT.

bigatlfan2
I really don't want us to draft him at all! I watched the combine and he was not good at all during the drills! His worst mistake was in coming up out of his stance! The commentators saw the same thing I saw and commented on it, saying that he will get ate up in the NFL if he does that! I also read in one of my draft magazines (PFW) that he "has a tendency to rise out of his stance"! Also says he has a "questionable threshhold for pain". "Suffered a injury vs. Navy and acted like his leg was severed!" Those comments, coupled with the comments about his laziness and questionable desire sounds like we should steer well clear of him! Can't wait for the draft!GO FALCONS!!! However, it was later pointed out that Otah went through the entire combine with a swollen & sprained ankle that definitely hampered his mobility. He still gutted it out. Dr Reality
The guys name sounds like an old school OL. Like one of the guys who would have played from the old Browns or Packers.
