Not to mention the lack of quality FA around the league.  You draft a player, reguardless of the talent he has.  You teach him your system.

We potentially have six starters from last years draft.  Two of them got injured, but we will see how strong they come back.  Anderson, Blailock, Houston, Lewis, Robinson, and Foster.

That would be six of 7-8 pics?  So finding 6 solid players is not way off base.

That would be six of 7-8 pics?  So finding 6 solid players is not way off base.

Foster was a freeagent.Give it a couple of years and we will see if it was as good as we think it is.

We certainly have the holes, but I suspect 1-2 will wash out or be beaten for a job by a UFA

QB- Yes

CB- Yes

Safety- Yes

LB- Yes

OT- Yes (2)

OL- Yes

DT- Yes

DE- Yes

TE- Yes

W/R- Not likely unless he can return kicks

RB- Not likely unless he can play great special teams

 

So yes, 11 COULD stick.

Every draft pick from last season is still on the team, and even a couple of the UDFAs. However, we've signed a lot of bodies off the street. Didn't the AJC report that we had 67 players in mini-camp? Add eleven more, and ... sheesh! We're gonna have to cut about two dozen players.

I just don't see all eleven draft picks making the team, although some might end up on the practice squad. Nevertheless, if 6-7 of them make the final roster (with 3-4 being starters), that will be an excellent draft in my opinion.

P.S. The most likely positions for a rookie to start are OT (left or right), OG (left or right), CB (right - across from Houston), and MLB (slide Brooking to WLB and let Nicholas sit one more season before taking over).

Is it possible for every pick to make the team? 

Yes... after all we're not loaded with talent.

Do the odds favor it?  Probably more with our team than others except Miami.

There are a lot of  "new" players from 07 .  Not just the 11 from the 07 draft but several UDFA and players signed during the 07 season and this year. The 11  08 draftees will be competing with these players for positions.  And there will be several UDFA this year and players signed after camp.

Agree with 6-7 on the final roster. 4 starters is probably pushing it (at least immediate starters), but could be possible. 7 on final roster & 2 or 3 on practice squad would be an excellent draft.
