TGeezy
Who are some players in the draft that could be taken in the later rounds and still be vital to the Falcons
Draft Crazy
Here are some of my good late round players that could help the team.Larry Grant OLB Ohio State - He is a great special teamer and when he got on the field was a good pass rusher. Kerry Brown OG from App. State - Brown played for a pretty good line in App. State he has good size and overall talent but will take time to develop.Martel Van Zant CB from Oklahoma State - A CB with good size and speed but his big red flag is he is deaf. The Falcons though do have a DE in Anderson that does no signing.Joshua Thompson DT from Auburn - He played NT in college but his size and height will precent him from playing NT in the pros. The main reason I like him is he reminds me of Josh Mallard a guy who is undersized but just has the motor to make plays.Shawn Murphy OG from Utah State - My pure homer pick because he is the son of one the best Braves ever in Dale Murphy. He does have good size and never really had any problem with injuries.
jonahfalcon
the obvious sleeper is Kevin McConnell ... high risk - high potential.Corey Boyd in the sixth is also a favorite sleeper of mine.Mario Urrutia = Plaxico-lite.Mike Cox ... could be the best blocking full back and could go undrafted.Craig Stevens is probably the best blocking TE ... perfect for Mularkey ... without much glitter he could drop pretty far. falcon1fan
Zach Bowman-cb-nebraska. Was predisted a top first round pick at 1 time but had some surgeries. If he can overcome those and show what he did at the combine and pro day hes a definate day 2 pick that could make someone ( td ) look like a genius.Tyrell Johnson-s-arkansas state. Ran in the 4.4 range and did 27 reps at the combine, the most by a safety. Hes solid strong and fast. Finishes tackles at the point of attack. Will gamble and have to play catch up but has good recovery speed. Played well against Texas and Tennesee so has played big talent.

zgotts
Tyvon Branch CB UCONNthis guy might have the most potential of the mid-round Defensive Backs. He is expected to go in the 4th or 5th round, but he has incredible speed (i think about 4.3). He was rated by ESPN to have the best closing speed in this year's CB class, so he can run with anyone. He also has experience at safety, and is a kick return threat. The main knock is he is hasn't shown the playmaking ability and instincts that scouts like to see.Still, given his versatility and speed (something you can't teach), i think he is absoultely worth a 4th rounder pick. Bring It
Tom Zbikowski - Notre Dame - SafetyMartellus Bennett - Texas A&M - TE
FalcsForLife
Speaking of mid-round CBs....Trae Williams, Dwight Lowery, and Chevis Jackson are three guys I like for our scheme.

g-dawg
King Dunlap,OT-Auburn, 6'8", 320lbs - has all the ability in the world but no consistent effort or nasty streak - maybe Boudreau can light a fire under this guy - has 1st round talent much like Marcus McNeil.Antwaun Molden, CB-Eastern Kentucky 6'1", 198lbs - quick feet and confident, short-memory, burst to close 4.39/40 - productiveStanford Keglar, OLB-Purdue 6'2", 239lbs - sideline-to-sideline player with high football IQ and great range
Draft Crazy
Thought I would add some more that I think could be good late round gems.Danny Woodhead RB from Chadron State - All he did was almost rush for 8000 yards in 4 years, with last year being a great year. In 2006 he carried the ball 344 times and got 2756 yards, for all you guys that love Josh Johnson for his stats just look at that number again. He also had a great pro day posting a 4.3 40 time and did 20 reps of 225 pounds. Look for him to be a good KR/PR and then maybe move to part time RB.Projected Round - 7th - UDFAJohn Booker OG from San Jose State - A big mauler that could easily go undrafted. He impressed at the Texas vs. The Nation game and pratices. He has good strength and shows good short range burst that could develop into a great OG.Projected Round - UDFADerrick Morse C from Miami - A big Center at 6'4 325 lbs that doesn't show up a lot in workouts but has the type of mindset I like in a player. "I don't care if I'm drafted, if I'm a free agent, as long as I get the opportunity at the next level." Morse said "They said they were concerned with my times and speed. But I know I got what it takes." I like taking a chance on a guy that will likely be a UDFA with his size and determination. (he also can play OG)Projected Round - late 7th - UDFAJeremy Geathers DE/OLB from UNLV - He doesn't have good size or timed speed but I still like him. I like that he is a smart player not falling for play action or staying at home for bootlegs and reverses. He also has a good motor that allow him to make plays that people may thinkg that he won't. He also has some pedigree with his dad being Jumpy, his uncle Robert Geathers, and his cousin being Robert Geathers Jr.Projected Round - 6th - UDFAKelin Johnson S from Georgia - Once again my last guy his a homer pick. Being a UGA fan I have seen Johnson a lot and the one thing I really loved about him is every time I saw him I felt he was leaving his heart on the field every play. I really value players that leave everything on the field and Johnson for me is well worth a possible late round pick.Projected Round - 7th - UDFA (I haven't seen any real projections for him so I am purely guessing about this one.) atljbo
6'6 331lbs RT/G Barry Richardson: as a RT he is decent but as a guard.... Barry can be really good.... Barry Richardson is long arm Mauler in the run game so as a guard he would be perfectProjection: 4th or 5th round6'5 258lbs DE Trevor Scott: I have saw some game tape on Scott and dude is a serious pass rusher.... I had to ask my bot for game tape because at his pro day Trevor Scott ran a 4.54 40, 33' vertical, and 32 reps of 225lbs.... Right now he is a pure pass rusherProjection: 5th or 6th round6'1 246lbs LB Gary Guyton: Another guy who open my eyes at the combine.... Gary is a guy who could be a really good backup and fill in at every LB position..... a great depth guy/special team with starting potential Projection: 5th or 6th round6'5 330lbs DT Jason Shirley: This guy is a HUGE run stopping DT.... This guy has all the tools to be a great NT but he will need a good D-Line coach to help him get that potential on the football fieldProjection: 6th or 7th round or maybe undrafted freeagent6'2 203lbs WR Adrian Arrington: This guy will be good in this league and i can guarantee this...... Arrington was overshadow by Manningham at Michigan , but Arrington still find away to shine...... Arrington have the speed and hands to be a really good WR.... With Michael Jenkins being on a contract year and with Joe Horn and Brian Finneran near retirement, we will need a WR.....Projection: 6th round
