jorge thomas
he has absolutely no chance of being a "franchise qb" the more i saw him play, the more i knew he would be as mediocre in the nfl as it comes.he will be the very defintion of mediocre, and will play as well as the talent he is surrounded with, and absoluely never, ever making the players around him better. if he has a great wr corps and a great oline, he will play great, if he has an average wr corps and average oline he will play average, good wr and oline, he will play good, etc etcbut this is an absolute fact, if matt ryan is surrounded by below average talent he will absolutely suck in the nfl. that is not a "franchise qb"michael vick was a franchise qb because he made even the worst overall teams in thenfl into contenders every year. jorge thomas
Carter (4/17/2008)Matt Ryan was a mediocre QB in college, so there's really no change.i wouldnt go that far. i just dont understand how anybody could think that he i worthy of a #3 overall pick.i think brohm is much better than ryan already, and has a ten times higher ceiling, and i think andre woodson will be the qb who ends up the best out of all the qbs taken in this years draft.maybe not right away, but definitely by his 3rd year, woodson will be head and shoulders above the rest of the qbs in this draft.oh, and by the way, i am an expert. He's never finished in the top 50 for passer efficiency in college. And just so you know, every QB since forever that has gone in the top 10 has finished in the top 20.Matt Ryan was rated as the 4th best QB in passer efficiency in his own conference last season. He was the 7th or 8th rated QB prospect in last year's crop, which wasn't exactly stellar either. Does he deserve to be a top 10 pick? About as much as Kiper still deserves a job. Purple Label
I live in Georgia and could care less. What did Tom Brady do in college? Not to bring him up everytime. Infact, I am not even a Matt Ryan fan, but these comments are getting pityful. The kid is not that bad of a player. Did you live in Pennsylvania where he is from? I am getting so sick of this, that I am starting to support a player that I have been against drafting.
Mike
what still makes me wonder about Ryan is that everyone says he played with great talent but can anyone name a receiver or tight end coming into this draft that was from BC if you can then ill stick with Brohm as my favorite QB in this class

Draftnut57
That's true with any QB , so what's the differance ? No QB can be successful without good WRs and OLman period . That's was the beggest problem with the QBs we had last year , other than Lefty , he will never make it anywhere. He's way to slow at everything even with all the support. His only "moment" was against Virginia Tech when he had 5 years to throw the ball. He was only a legit part of the discussion for a few weeks anyways. The only people who even brought him up as a legit candidate to begin with were the toolbox crew at ESPN... who not surprisingly are about the only ones still caning him to be a top 5 pick.
