papi
I know its not our highest priority and that we just picked up a safety (not sure if he's a FS or ss) but it sure would be nice to have one with those Scott Case/Rodney Harrison qualities.Who's out there that fits the description? falconva7
I don't know who is similar to those guys, but I think Marcus Griffin out of Texas in round 4 or 5 could turn into a great safety eventually. Right now I'd like to see what Eric Coleman and Jimmy Williams can do.
bigstack19
Boy, Scott Case was a hitter wasn't he. Hard to believe he was an All-Pro cornerback before being moved Glanville moved him to safety. Anyway, there are a few guys I like at safety. Jamar Adams of Michigan is an explosive hitter. Tom Zbikowski of Notre Dame is tough as nails. DaJuan Morgan of N.C.State. I saw several of his big hits last season thanks to Raycom Sports. Jamie Silva of Boston College actually reminds me of Scott Case. Not big or fast but plays bigger and is a tackler. Last one is Chris Horton of UCLA. He is physical, plays the run real well and will play special teams too.
papi
Those are some pretty good observations. Ive seen the kid from Notre Dame and the one from Boston College. Haven't seen the others.

I'm not sure how well his game will translate to the NFL level, but he always seemed to be around the ball on every play...

Flashinator23
Josh Barrett is like Lawyer Milloy's twin they are both big except Josh Barrett is a little faster but they both turn could turn into an outside linebacker but Josh Barrett should stay at Strong Safety. Him and Daren Stone could rotate in at SS in a couple of Years. It would be an awesome combo

Scott Case is still one of my all time favorite Falcons! That #25 jersey flying all over the stadium was GREAT!
ton_63
what about craig steltz.. he seemed to be a pretty big hitter and a good cover man as well..
JC Falcon
I don't think he'd be available to us since we have higher needs to address - but the LSU free safety Steltz seemed to play solid coverage, always seemed to take good angles and be in good position (meaning he makes quick correct reads) and was not afraid to stick his helmet in for hits - although he is not a known as a big hitter.Zibikowski would seem a tougher player - perhaps better suited to SS than Free. I think his coverage skills were sometimes suspect. Milloy at SS is still solid for 2008, but may be done after this year. It would be great if we could groom a replacement this year - but we've got too many holes to fill now to take on projects. We have a free agent Coleman, 2nd year Darren Stone, and Jimmy Williams at FS - none of which I've heard much excitement about so far.
