His first two mocks are usually much different than his final that he will post next thursday or friday.

His final mock has been extremely accurate.

EXACTLY.  I about dropped my ### this morning when I open up the Dallas Morning News paper and went straight to his mock as usual and saw what I saw.  Then I read the fine print.  This one he is just ranking his compilation of what he has heard from the scouts and talent evalulators with his twists.

The biggy is the week before the draft and that one is as straight as he can get it from his sources (front offices and GM's) he has cultivated over the many years.  That one telss who picks who with fairly great accuracy (minus trades)

I am getting really sick on how every sports writer or every expert talks about our pick as The franchise "hope", or they will say, they are in desperate need of ...... For other teams they actually talk about the player, for us they talk about our team being in this horrible situation even though there were about 6 or 7 teams that had an equal or worse year than us.

3. Atlanta Matt Ryan QB Boston College

Comment: Falcons need reason for hope

This is what kills me on this board every year. I understand when folks get pissy at Kiper or Mayock, but Gosselin is the man when it comes to mock drafting. He has good reason to think we'll grab Ryan. And guess what theres a great chance that we'll grab him. too many of you on here listen to Grendel and others about grabbing Brohm. Or how the second round is the value pick for the Falcons. Guess what we have a giant glaring hole at the QB spot, and Ryan is the top ranked Prospect. And guess what else, he's a very good prospect. He has nice numbers, size, no behavioural issues, no psychotic tendencies, **** he's even got the best wonderlic scores.

Get over yourselves

yep.  I have traded some emails with Gosselin over the years and he does think the Flacons are at the bottom.  But I respect his opinion on the inner workings of the draft and player movements.  He gave the Falcons the highest grade (A+) of all the teams in his annual revist of the the previous draft 2007.  Again this is his list of what others say is the talent level, not his final of what is going to happen

BTW, before you go after me--i'd be quite happy with Chris Long. I just don't want to overpay for a DT that pulls up lame every game

He's usually one of the best at hitting the highest percentage of right picks every year.

I won't be upset either way. We'll get a good player with the 3rd pick.

Yeah, a good player that's hopefully not Matt Ryan.  I'd rather have the QB in your sig!  He's a tough as nails gamer!

Ouch! :pinch: No really.  Ryan is a good QB.

Is he worth a #3 pick in the draft for the Falcons?  Not in my opinion.

Do we have bigger glaring needs?  Yes!  Offensive tackle and linebacker to name a few.  We signed 2 QB's, 3 DT's, 2 TE's, 1 K, 1, DE, 1 CB, 1 S, and 1 C.  Of which, Redman, Hartsock, Hutchinson, Coleman, and Elam are projected to start.  And maybe on of the DT's.

I say Miami who went 1-15 last season and released both starters from last year has more of a need at QB.  Why do they pass on Ryan?  Same reason we may pass on him.  Other needs.  They have a serviceable QB for now.  We do too.  I would be suprised if they took Brohm with their 2nd round pick though.  Better value.

I'd take Jake Long over Ryan all day long.  Same with Dorsey.  Better value.

Brohm to Jacksonville after they just signed Garrard to a huge deal

Chris Johnson at 20 to a team with Caddilac Williams, Earnest Graham, and Warrick Dunn

Aqib Talib at 30

Stewart ahead of Mendenhall

Chris Long falling to 6.

This is without question the worst mock draft I have seen all year........did he do this at midseason or something?
