::The Gist::

--Atlanta sends it's 3rd (68=250), a 2nd of it's choice (34=560, 37=530, or 48=420), and a late pick of it's choice (6th or 7th= 25 to 10 pts to make ends meet) to move to these three areas if they want to target a player:

SCENARIO 1: 68 + 34 = 810 (21-22 range)

--The scenario above would be Washington (21=800) or Dallas (22=780)

::Why The Washington Trade Can Work::

-Washington with the second and third can address their glaring need at safety, tackle, or defensive end with good value in the second.

::Why The Dallas Trade Can Work::

-Dallas is rumored to actually looking at trade offers to move down.

PLAYERS WE TARGET HERE: QB Brian Brohm, OL Branden Albert, OT Jeff Otah, OT Chris Williams, CB Mike Jenkins, CB Dominique-Rodgers Cromartie, or CB Aqib Talib

SCENARIO 2: 68 + 37 = 780 (22-23 range)

--The scenario above would be Dallas (22=780) or Pittsburg (23=760)

::Why The Dallas Trade Can Work::

-It's point for point on the point chart (780=780) and Dallas is rumored to be looking at trade offers to move down.

::Why The Pittsburg Trade Can Work::

-We may be giving up a little extra, but if the player is rated high on our list, we'll shave the 20 points we missed on.

PLAYERS WE TARGET HERE: QB Brian Brohm, OL Branden Albert, OT Jeff Otah, OT Chris Williams, CB Mike Jenkins, CB Dominique-Rodgers Cromartie, or CB Aqib Talib

SCENARIO 3: 68 + 48= 670 (27-28 range)

--The scenario above would involve San Diego (27=680) and Dallas (28=660)

::Why The San Diego Trade Can Work::

-San Diego has this pick, but they don't pick again until round 5! When we throw in the 6th or 7th they will have moved down 21 slots to 48, but picked up a high third and another pick.

::Why The Dallas Trade Can Work::

-Dallas is rumored to actually looking at trade offers to move down.

PLAYERS WE TARGET HERE: QB Brian Brohm, OL Branden Albert, OT Jeff Otah, OT Chris Williams, CB Mike Jenkins, CB Dominique-Rodgers Cromartie, CB Aqib Talib, OT Gosder Cherilus, DT Kentwan Balmer, FS Kenny Phillips, CB Antoine Cason, CB Tracy Porter, OT Carl Nicks, MLB Jerod Mayo, MLB Curtis Lofton, or DT Pat Sims

Think of it this way..  We may be giving up a third, but essentially our 2nd that we give up will be transformed into a quality 1st. We are not losing both picks. Get it?

::My Ideal Scenario::

-Atlanta trades the 37th (2nd) pick overall and 68th (3rd) pick overall (780)

-Dallas trades the 22nd (1st) pick overall (780)

--Atlanta now has the 3rd, 22nd, 34th, 48th, and a late 3rd (99). An amazing line-up and all they gave up was one of their two thirds.

PLAYERS TARGETED: OL Branden Albert or QB Brian Brohm or OT Jeff Otah

Draft = 3-Jake Long, 22-Branden Albert, 34-Brian Brohm, 48-Dre Moore, 99-best CB, NT, or MLB available.

Result: Hello Run Game (Long & Albert), Pass Game (Brohm), and Interior Rush and Help For Jamaal (Moore)!

:w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t:

With three 2nd round picks, I agree that trading back into the 1st is a good idea. The problem is convincing another team that moving down is a good idea for them.

The rumors with Dallas that I've heard are they want to move up, way up, and they are going to need both of those 1st rounders to do that. Can't see anything involving Dallas.

Next, the guys you are targeting, we need to get higher to get them. QB Brian Brohm, OL Branden Albert, OT Jeff Otah, OT Chris Williams, CB Mike Jenkins, CB Dominique-Rodgers Cromartie, and CB Aqib Talib are all most likely top 20 picks, and in the majority of cases, top 15. Otah in fact might go as high as #5 to KC. Ryan Clady is a guy I can see dropping way down possibly to this range if you're targeting a LT. But I'm not sure I'm convinced he's worth giving up that much to move back up & get.

If you want to move up, my target would be a team like Minnesota at 15 or Arizona at 16. We can get to either of those by trading Oakland's 2nd and our 3rd along with a 2009 2nd round pick. That is a deal that is a whole lot more enticing than just tossing in a 6th/7th round pick in this year's draft.

I just can't see any of the 3 scenarios you've listed working out, especially if we are targeting the players you are putting there.
