Even after a combine workout which was below expectations, Iowa defensive back Charles Godfrey has drawn an incredible amount of interest from teams around the league. Godfrey will workout for scouts next week at the Hawkeye pro-day yet already has personal workouts set up with the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys. He will also be visiting the Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, New York Giants, St. Louis Rams and will be brought into Cleveland for a visit after his workout.

The Atlanta Falcons are considering using a pick in round two on Godfrey, as they will need cornerbacks once DeAngelo Hall is traded to Oakland. Sources told us the Hall-to-Oakland deal is completed, with contract negotiations between the cornerback and the team the final hurdle.

The Browns are definitely targeting defensive backs for next months draft. Antwaun Molden of Eastern Kentucky has a date scheduled to be worked out by the team.

NFLDraftScout has Godfrey listed as a 3rd rounder. Witht the focus on lines and a QB, I have to think that will be addressed first, and possibly MLB. But I could see Atlanta taking him with a 3rd rounder. The reports say his loves the physicality of the game, which Coach Smith would definitely like.
