Is Matt Ryan worth a third round draft pick for the falcons?

I would rather take Jake Long or Glen Dorsey with the first pick. But if we take Ryan, I will not be dissapointed and support our team and General Manager.

With these 3 2nd round picks, we might look as if we can take Ryan with the #3 pick then Pat Sims with our 2nd pick, then Sam Baker, etc. with our 3rd round pick since the offensive linemen market is deep. We might look into believing that Ryan can be the franchise player and the marketing player to bring in fans to the dome and that he has the poise and that will to to win even though he did not do much in the combine and threw many interceptions, and that there are a couple of talented defensive linemen in the later 1st round or 2nd round. There are many good talented quarterbacks out there, one can be faster, throw more accurately, have a strong arm, etc, but you want to go for the one that knows how to win in the big games....Payton, Brady, Eli, Big Ben, etc.

My point is Flacco hasn't won the big one, neither has Brohm, neither as Henne, neither as Johnson nor Woodson. Matt Ryan has played some big and dynamic games carrying a talentless offense into some big wins. He may not have the size and big arm as Flacco, accuracy as Brohm, speed and athlete of Johnson and Woodson, but he has image of a franchise player and the poise to be patient in the big games and the ability to earn his players respect.

NO I dont think so we should build up the defense and offensive line before picking a QB

1r DT Dorsey or Ellis If long Isnt there

2r Best OL Available

2r LB Curtis Lofton

2r Best OL Available

3r QB Flacco/Johnson/Ainge/O'Connell/Woodson

4r CB/S

5r WR

6r OL/DL

6r Return Specialist I like Chris Johnson RB/KR

7r You fill IN THE BLANK

I think Ryan taken at 3 is a little high for us.  I really don't think TD and SMith want a QB that high.  Most of them are neck and neck right now.  We have extra picks in which to make trades to move up.  I could see us taking Dorsey, Long or Ellis at 3, then trading two of our three second rounders to move up to the 17 to 22 range and take Brohm.  THe other second rounder we go best OF or DEF lineman.

None of these QBs are worth a 1st round pick. Then again, Tom Brady was only worth a 6th round pick. Think Ryan Leaf. Joey Harrington. Etc...

There is no exact science to picking a QB in the draft. No-one knows who will be good or not.

Better off not picking any QB in round 1. Wait til round 2 or later.

He said 3rd ROUND pick...not 3rd pick people.

Read.

It looks to me like he meant 3rd pick, which is why he put "Draft(first round)" below the title.

I'd make a reach for the 3 round pick.

It doesn't matter what you'd do. He'll be picked by people who make those decisions in the first round anyway.

Fist of all we need a QB to bring us to the big games.....
