falcon_eyes
i like the dude from UGA, but who are some other kickers we could draft, get from fa, or maybe sign as undrafted?
malk2.0
We really need to draft a good kicker IMO . I dont know if theres any good ones tho but we do need a good young guy to build up with the team.
Lord Sarcomere
I personally like Art Carmody. He seems like a very dependable kicker.
Vicious
bush (3/7/2008)I personally like Art Carmody. He seems like a very dependable kicker.Good choice there. Couldn't go wrong with Coutu either. That guy's got a leg on him. I could just imagine him kicking in the dome. Plus both can kick one longer that 40yrds:D
GEORGIAfan
Coutu > Camrody its a fact. Camrody cant touch Coutu's leg. Coutu could kick 60+ yards.
bossFALCON™
coutu will be our kicker for the next 10+ years.
krsnat1
Art Carmody is not the answer, he can only kicks 50 yards. I seen him kick for four years, dependable but not long kicker.

FalconsFanSC
Since the Rams signed Josh Brown they no longer will need the other kicker on their roster: Justin MedlockMedlock was one of the top 2 kickers out of last years draft along with Mason Crosby. It is pretty much a lock that Medlock will be released. Unfortunately, he probably won't be released until sometime near the end of training camp. I know they drafted him last year. He was given the starting job in training camp but after missing some FGs in the preseason they benched him. I watched the drama unfold on HBO's Hard Knocks show.I also watched some pre-draft competition between some kickers on ESPN last year. Medlock looked superb and Crosby not so good. I guess that's why you shouldn't pay attention to those silly "challenge" competitions ESPN has

atljbo
i dont think we will waste a pick on a kicker but if we do ...it will be a 7th round pick....or we will get an undrafted kicker
atljbo
by the way....the falconswas at Georgia Tech Pro day to check out Kicker Travis Bell who made 14 of 17 FG attempts, including 1 of 2 from 60-yards out

Not on my watch, Vicious, not on my watch...Btw, I'm stickin' to my story... if the offense can't get it w/in Morten's range, they don't deserve any points! :w00t:

birdz4i
i love old mort now(the greatest kick in franchise history) but we need someone who can get us point from 40+ yards whom ever it may be

formul8or
Coutu, we won't get a better value for our 5th round pick. He'll score more points than anyone on the team.
Robb4242
Taylor Mehlhaff is the closest to Coutu in this draft. Coutu may go higher due to name recognition, but Mehlhaff is just as good & can be had in the 6th or if we're lucky early in the 7th.In addition to being an excellent FG kicker with a strong, accurate leg from 50+, Mehlhaff had 123 of 273 kickoff go as touchbacks. With the new kickoff rules this year (5 yards back), he led the nation among draft eligible kickers (5th overall) in touchbacks.JMO, but I really can't see using a 5th on Coutu when we have so many other needs. Plus the leg injuries that Coutu has had in the past scare me some, even if he is completely healed right now.
