Do you think DJ Shockley has a chance to be a good NFL starting QB?

Recommended Posts

Im going with no. I think this kid needs to be flipping burgers at BK. The only people who seem to want him starting are UGA homers or Vick huggers who think this kid is something close to Vick.

There will never be anotehr VICK people. He was one of a kind. If he would have went to any other NFL team where the coach and owner wernt on his jock strap and would help him mature he might have pissibly been the best thing to ever happen to the NFL

Shockely couldnt beat out David Greene for 3 years and green is 3rd string back up....which is where shockley belongs....

Again, we still have not seen him in a real NFL game. Only pre-season. Don't pull out your "Jump to conclusions mats" just yet. Give the kid a chance, lets see how he does in a real NFL game, he has the athletic ability and he has been sitting on the bench learning under veteran QB's and veteran coaches for a solid 2 years. We shall see...

as I mentioned in another thread, that is a bad comparison. Greene is the winningest QB in NCAA hsitory, of course shock will sit behind him. BTW for you that can't comprehend what I'm saying... I am not saying Shock is the QB messiah... I'm simply pointing out why Shock sat behind Greene.

It's really getting old how some folk compare every black QB to Vick.

The only thing Vick and DJ have in common is the fact they share the

same skin color. I Don't know what DJ can do for us because he needs

to be healed and on the field first. What I want do is talk crap about a

guy who has not done anything to deserve it.

Probably, If The Falcons have a strong running game, and actually cathc the ball on his deep throws..

This season belongs to Reman and possibly the rookie QB that The Falcons draft from rounds 2-6.

Still, I think that Shockley makes the roster, but is a year away form really competing because his knee is probably still tender.

Watch Donovan McNabb's progress this season (if he loses some weight to aid his knee). It will be about two full years of healing after his tear.

Shockley will only be 1 year removed form his surgery in August/September. He could surprise after Game (s)8-16..(a year and 3 months after surgery) at the earliest.

By 2009, The young LT, Blaylock, and other young O-linemen will be a solid unit.

The Falcons aren't selecting Ryan, but they will draft a QB in lower rounds.

If you cannot perform in pre-season, then he doesn't need to be anywhere near a regular season game. In pre-season he wildy overthrew targets, didn't get rid of the ball, and freaked out under the smallest bit of pressure. In his one good drive where he got injured, all he did was wait for the middle of the field to open up and make a run for it, you aren't going to be able to do that much in the NFL...

You can do that in NFL preseason, but only because you're playing other 3rd stringers and the DC are running really vanilla schemes. I'm with you 100%, if he's not impressing in preseason (and he hasn't so far in the other years he was here) then he shouldn't start the regular season.

Well the way I remember it, he looked pretty good in his first preseason and only looked bad in the first game of fis second preseason.
