Nick
First off i want to say that matt ryan is tim couch and he is not worth a top 10 pick. Andre woodson despite people saying he has a long release could be in an atlanta uniform. He played in the sec a better division than the acc. Also i hate hearing ppl say ryan threw 19 picks cus of the lost talent. Woodson had worse talent can you name one receiver on kentucky. Woodson has amazing pocket presence i saw a highlight of him completing a pass while being rushed by 2 players. Woodson for the past 3 yrs of college has been a 60% passer rating this year he threw 40 tds and only 11 picks ryan threw 19. He also has a rocket arm i see atlanta using a 3rd rounder on him. Finally neither he or matt ryan participated in the combine but he gets scrutinized more than ryanwhat do u think

sporkdevil
3rd rounder? I could go with that, even though he seems like a Lefty, who we cut a month ago. I would hope we could bring out him at his best, which is very very good. But no 2nd rounders please, there is better talent there.
stumpjumper
The 2nd round has way too many QB's with talent to pick up Woodson. I'm not comfortable with him in the third either, he's kind of like a statue, see the games where the D got in the backfield after him? dan minnich
i wouldnt draft woodson till the 4th. woodson has way more bust potential than ryan.
Nick
Tom Brady was a 6th rounder, to me it doesnt matter what round you go as long if your given a chance you can suceed. Troy Smith was a 5th rounder and showed some promise in the late season. Also you can suceed if a team does 2 things. gives you a good o-line, and does not try to make you what your not. example vince young not a passer qb but a running qb

He had a receiver, Steve Johnson, who'll be drafted. As will his tight end, Jacob Tamme. Burton, the other receiver is no slouch. He was invited to the combine and could be drafted. He running back who gained a thousand yards even though he missed 3 games. The two backups almost gained a thousand yards combined. Woodson played with a stacked offense.I hope he does well in the NFL but he's not mobile at all, kind of floats his passes, and has been known to get brain lock in the pocket. Nick
Yeah but say we take Ryan 3rd overall and goes all ryan leaf on us as a bust has more of a consequence than drafting a 3rd-4th rounder cap wise pay ryan 35 mil or woodson 4-7 mil idk how much late rounders get paid. plus woodson's only bad yr in college was when he threw 6 td's and 6 picks his sophmore year since then he has a higher td ratio than int's. Plus idk y ppl r high on ryan

Nick
RYAN FLOATS HIS PASSES HE ALSO HAD EASIER COMPETITION HE ALSO HAD ANDRE CALLENDER AND TONY GONZALEZ AT WR. A GOOD WAY TO BECOME A GREAT PASSER IS THE ABILITY to step up in the pocket under pressure and thats woodson.
xXFlashFalconXx
I agree 110%. Ryan isn't worth it, and I really think it would be a mistake to get him with the 3rd overall pick. Everyone keeps talking about his freaking "intangibles". I looked up what it means and it says "lacking material qualities, and so not able to be touched or seen".... WHAT THE FREAK IS THAT GOING TO DO FOR ME ON SUNDAYS? Nothing! And no one can give a valid reason why he had 19 picks. Woodson has a lot of upside and the talent and mechanics to be a solid QB for any team. He would save us money as well because we could get him in the later rounds. I'm with u man. No to Ryan, Yes to Woodson. I just hope TD is thinking like us.

And when talking about the 3rd pick, no matter what position we take the guy could be a bust. There have been crappy top draft picks in all positions.I'm not high on Ryan, and hope we take a lineman. But I think he has a lot more upside than Andre (even though it pains me to say that as a UK fan).

Just_the_Truth
Actually, Woodson and Couch have much more in common than Couch and Ryan.Woodson and Couch both played at Kentucky. Both played very well against tough SEC competitionBoth were accused of having mental lock upsBoth played in a very pass happy offenseBoth had extremely good talent around them
Nick
People attack woodson cus he has a slow release playing under MAD MIKE MARTZS' SYSTEM at the senior bowl i got news for everyone he's not going to San Fran to play Mike Martz ball plus having a quick release is not that good your at more of a risk to get picked off or miss a pass if you go 1 2 3 step drop pass on the 3rd step you dont have enough time to let receivers develop their routes and the qb doesnt have time to scout the dfense. am i getting through to anyone
xXFlashFalconXx
You're right. But stats do give you a lot of valuable info on the players. You just can't discredit stats all together. If we did that then teams would just draw names out of a hat to draft players. Of course there will be an exception or two to the stats, but most of the time it's a good indicator. Nick
and both play in different times and couch was a high pick woodson will not. being a high pick you have alot more pressure if your a 3, 4, 5th round selection you go to camp under the radar hence derek anderson, tom brady, kurt warner,

Warningx13
Woodson is slipping, but is still not going to slip into the third round, and his weapons were better then Ryans, dont kid yourself there. However, if it were between Ryan and Woodson I would rather us draft Woodson because of where we could get him, I would rather us draft Woodson but I don't feel like he is going to be a franchise guy. I want to feel it in my heart that he can be, I know there aren't many Mannings, Bradys, and Palmers out there but no matter where we draft them I want to believe that they have the skills to get there and be one of the best of the upcoming decade. When I think of him I think of him just being physically gifted enough to play well at the college level but don't see the high celing. Someone like David Garrard, he is having sucess at the moment but he is not a force that you have to gameplan for. Thats just my opinion. ki45toryu
I hate to burst bubbles, but you said Ryan will be the next Tim Couch, and that Woodson played in the more competitive SEC.Guess where Tim Couch played?*Edit: I'm a little late I see.
