My new trade scenario with Dallas

Recommended Posts

Falcons:

#3 pick

Deangelo Hall

Dallas:

#22 pick

#28 pick

2 rounder this year

2nd or 3rd rounder next year

Dallas would get the lock down corner they desire as well as Mcfadden in the backfield for their Superbowl run.

Atlanta would be free from D. Halls upcoming contract which would free up money for the extra picks we recieve. We could draft an olineman at #22, Sam Baker perhaps, and at #28 we could sneak in and pick up either Flacco or Brohm before other teams (Miami, KC, etc..) get a chance to. If this trade was made we would have three 2nd round picks in which to address the positons of CB, DT, and ILB.

I don't really follow the draft charts that people use but to me this seems like a win-win for both teams. Dallas would be an immediate contender and we could fill a bunch of roster spots w/ first day talent.

I like that scenario a lot and that would be the only way to get 2 first round picks but the only thing i dont like is that there would be no Jake Long, but i would give up the 3rd pick for for 3 other picks. The Falcons could do more with 3 picks than just that one. But instead of a 2nd or 3rd round pick maybe we could get one of their back up DTs now that Lewis is hurt again.

then it would look like

round 1 pick 3- Glenn Dorsey or Jake Long(would be happy with either)

round 1 pick 28-Rodgers-Cromartie(huge, fast corner to replace hall)

rd 2- brandon albert or jeff otah(if we take long then albert, if we take dorsey then otah)

rd 2- pat sims or trevor laws(which do u like more?)

rd 2- mario manningham(big play ability, not looking like first round lock; if he were there i think you have to look because he could be a huge deep ball threat)

i know there isnt a quarterback in this but i believe that there are other holes which would be easier to fix in this draft rather than guessing on a flawed quarterback.

I've read some mocks that have Cromartie going in the top ten now after he blew up at the combine/senior bowl. It is unlikely that he falls to either of Dallas' first round picks. Due to that fact that Dallas is going to be a contender next year, the future second rounder they throw in would be less valueble, so maybe they should add a 4th rounder for this year. At that point they would be giving us 5 picks for 2 players and I'm not sure if a team would do that unless they were guaranteed to have D. Hall long term.

I just hope TD finds a way to get some value for D. Hall b/c it would suck if we had him for a rebuilding year only to be signed on by the highest bidder next year. If TD learned anything from New England it is that you don't want to tie up to much money in one position long term. This is evident by the release of A. Samuel, Troy Brown and some of the other recievers they have not resigned over the years.

We wouldn't be getting a first rounder for D. Hall. We would be getting a second this year, a fourth this year, and a second next year. This would be a better deal for the falcons but would be offset with us giving our #3 for Dallas' #22+#28 (better deal for Cowboys).

if you really want a nice scenario, here it is. we trade hall to the cowboys for the 22 or 28 and a second rd pick. then with the no. 3 pick we make the jets cave and trade up to secure mcFadden whom they would like to have as evidenced by their uprgrading the oline. we get the 6th overall as well as a second for the oppurtunity to select mcFadden. we now have the 6th, the 22nd or 28th, and four second round picks.

Too bad that would never happen. The Cowboys would be giving up way too much for Deangelo Hall alone in that scenario, and I think the Jets covet Vernon Gholston who should still be on the board by pick #6.

Try not to focus on my picks and more on the trade itself. Somebody mentioned that we should trade D. Hall for two first rounds picks and a second. I would love for that to happen but that is a very unrealistic trade. The most value we will get out of him is a mid first round pick..... that is what we gave up for Abe.

I look at it this way....

This trade is sending D. Hall to Dallas for #22 and a 2nd round this year....which could happen anyway...but then we throw in our #3 pick for Dallas' #28 pick and a future 2nd rounder....that is terrible value and if I were Dallas I would jump at it.....

Why would Dallas give us the #22 + a second rounder for D. Hall when we wouldn't even except the Giants #31 pick?

D. Hall is not worth any more than 1 first round pick. For #3, we would get a first and two seconds. Sounds about right to me.

We could draft Brohm with one of the picks who many on here say is just as good as Ryan but he will be a **** of a lot cheaper. We pick pick up some second round OL which should be a problem b/c the position is deap this year.

We should be able to fill most of other spots by next year'd draft and TD's players will be in place. Brohm will have a season under his belt and be ready to step in as the fulltime starter. ****, I should be the GM now that I think about it. Eraclansing is da FUTURE.

Trade him to Cincinati or Detroit for their 1st and 3rd rounders. Pick up Clady or DRC with the new pick. If we don't get a comp for PK we'll still have two 3rds.
