somecut8
Problem: Ok guys, believe it or not we need a LB. Now the DeMorrio Williams is no longer a Falcons, we don't really have a LB that can start for us. We have a bunch of young guys on the roster, who, potentially can become good, but still haven't proven it.Solution: Darryl Blackstock-He's a RFA that hasn't been tendered, which basically means he's a UFA.-We can probably sign him to a cheap deal, as he was a backup his entire career.-Just because he's a backup doesn't mean he's not good. I mean how can you start when Carlos Dansby, Gerald Hayes, and Calvin Pace, are your starting LBs.-Was a third round draft pick out of Virginia-Has good size at 6'3 244.-Only 24 years of age.Stats: never started in 2007...21 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble.I say we bring this guy in for cheap and as a temporary fix for our LB spot until we can draft one next year. Next year there are some good MLBs we should try to get in the first round.
DefenseWinzCliche
Stephen Nicholas took DeMo's job, but lost it due to a sprained ankle. Nicholas is a **** good LB. We're not in trouble at the Will at all. Mike is another story.
1989Fan
is he really an improvement over Nicholas? From what I have heard, the staffs liking of Nicholas was the main reason they let D. Williams walk.If Arizona hasnt tried to keep even with losing Pace, maybe he isnt that good? He was Pace's backup in AZ.I dont know a ton about him, but if AZ didnt want to keep him, I dont think he will be better than Nicholas/Brooking. Fitz is taking a lot of money. Both Dansby and Pace were FAs. And that's just a few guys that had contracts expiring. But, I haven't watched Nicholas that much so I had no idea he was that good. But if he's as good as you guys say he is, then nevermind about the LB position.
Robert L
Yea Arizona really porked themselves. Fitzgerald will be counting like 16-17 mil against their cap this year, they franchised Dansby so that is a good chunk of change as well. So they are probably strapped ATM. But the kid has some good size and speed-are there any character concerns with him? If not, he could always be a backup if the money is right. Then he would have minimal impact on their cap. Especially since they NEED a OLB now that Pace is gone. Financially, tendering Blackstock would definately be the cheapest way to get a starting OLB.
