bkjfalcon
One of the complaints about Turner is that the Falcons over paid. But with today's free agent market and the big jump in cap space the last 2 years, I just don't that's the case. I know Turner doesn't have the resume of Moss, but I think this just shows the Falcons paid the market rate.http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patr..._hook_up_again/In the end, common sense won out over dollars and cents. Randy Moss wanted to be with the Patriots and the Patriots wanted Randy Moss, so the sides agreed to extend their mutually-beneficial marriage yesterday, settling on a three-year, $27 million deal that included a $12 million signing bonus as part of a total of $15 million in guarantees.....(article continues-- go to link)

Are they both future hall of famers?I don't think Turner is a bad signing but I also think comparing turner to moss is silly.
july425
falconsstomp (3/4/2008)the pats needed moss more than moss need the pats..thats why they overpaid, and he is worth the overpayment..Its not overpaying if he's worth it...and for a record-breaker, I agree, he is. The Pats probably made $15 mil in merchandise sales associated with #81 alone.
bulldogfalcon
Steve_Bartkowski (3/4/2008)Your comparing the top WR in the NFL last year to a backup RB (last year). Just so you know...A backup that is going to be a starter(this coming year). Just so you remember...
kdkane79
I think the Pats got off cheap with Randy Moss. Only $15 million guaranteed. I would take that all day long if I were the Pats
Sun Tzu 7
Uhmm.... it's Randy ##### Moss!!!!!You're comparing one of the most physically gifted WR's that has ever played the game to a guy that's been a career back-up at RB.You're comparing a guy that has been the unquestioned #1 option EVERYWHERE he's been to a guy that was a back-up and when he was on the field most of the time the TE was the #1 option. So Turner is getting starter money comparable to Portis, Alexander, etc.... so he needs to produce like one.If he gets 1,200-1,500 yards rushing next season then he earned his money. If he gets 1,500 yards then we got a sweet deal.

Anon
I personally, think Turner was money well spent. However, in Moss, you're talking about arguably the greatest deep threat in the history of the NFL.

There's a difference between being a backup and running a two back system. Barer did not start but he got most of the touches last year.
