farbinkle
To run or pass in this league you need solid olinewe sign turner to big contract ,he will be running behind the same sorry lineif we signed turner and turn around and draft olinemen you are saying that even though rb is the easiest position for a rookie to contribute fastest, we the falcons think rookie olineman who have a much larger learning curve are going to block successfully for turnerjust because he is experienced wont mean much if holes are not availablepick up olineman in fa and draft stud rb in draft. why are they doing this all backwardshutchins and coleman may indeed be solid players but if you lose hall, milloy, and crockeri mean hutchins is not starting cb material, what happens to j.williams?gonna throw another rookie cb in the mix? i dont get it lets get boley signed for christs sake, redman resigned but not boley? cmon man rookie dt instead of fa? williams or rogers ,jenkins would have been real nice, now if we go ellis or dorsey with no 3 would push getting an olineman back even further now sacrificing blocking for the 34 million dollar back turner who is going to share carries?paid too much if the intention is split carries and if they dont split carries norwood is completely wasting away on benchshow me something td and smith cause right now im scratching my head

.leon
We have a hefty draft to come, so fret not. If we get the Maurice Williams deal done then I will be ecstatic. There are not too many O-linemen in FA this year, and most have been snapped up quickly.
chifalc
It makes perfect sense. ANd you have it backwards: YOU want to pick up O - linemen and D - linemen in the Draft - the lines are A: Where you need the talent - a good line can make - or break - any back - on either side. And linemen are also some of the most expensive parts of any team. Thus you get young talent through the draft to beef up the lines. Also, you don't go out and look for the types of players that are "Finishing touches to a playoff team" players instead of "Skeleton' players until, in fact, you have something close to a playoff team. They are ejecting old players. Installing newer and younger physical players. Building from the inside out through the draft. What is there not to understand? I'm sure they'll get it done.Secondly...who did you want them to pursue to fill the OL? Pay Alan Faneca 9 million a year? This is a deep OL draft. We have a lot of picks and our picks are in good places. Rome wasnt built in a day.
215FalconsFanatic
Dude we got the best available FA RB who could be the best back draft or otherwise. We didnt overpay for a DT who has in recent memory done nothing (Jenkins, Rogers, Kelly). We didnt sign a OL who was over the hill and may play 2 years. We signed 2 DBs who are FO are comfortable with after playing against them mutiple times every year (notice what divisions they are from). This draft is actually one of the better OL drafts in recent history. We have alot of picks. DT is easier to fill especially if Lewis comes back healthy. We are 5 days into FA and you guys are shooting down the front office. We have signed a TE who fits our new scheme, the best FA RB available, and 2 DBs who could compete for starting postions. I dont see the problem. And we still have cap room left to make other moves. Atleast wait till after the draft to trash TD and gang....GEEZ! REV.2000
I'M NOT TOO WORRIED ABOUT THE FINAL OUT COME. I MEAN AFTER EVERYTHING'S DONE IN FA AND THE DRAFT. I THINK THIS GUY TD (the GM) KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. IF NOT WE'LL KNOW SOON ENOUGH.

Free Agency just started and the draft is over a month away. The final roster for this team is not even close to being finished. The coaches and Front office have said publicly that the O-line is a priority. It's a little embarassing the way it is. The guy I had to do the work decided to do something else and left the job. I now have another guy to help. I thought I was all set with the engine, but it blew up and needs to be replaced--I and I am still paying for it on my credit card.We made list of the things that I could afford to do this year in addition to the new engine, because I don't have the money to do it all now. We are going to change the plugs, get new tires and wheels, upgrade the rotors and brakes, change the air filter and fuel filter, get a whole new interior and put in a good sound system. I also have a bad headlight that will be replaced, and that doesn't mean that we won't be using both headlights in the future.Since I won't need to drive this car for 5 months, we decided it doesn't matter what order the repairs are made, as long as it all gets done. I may be able to trade for some wheels, and get something in trade for some of the parts I will no longer need. As we are getting this stuff done, we may find some things that we didn't have on the list and we will address these as we go along.Next year, when I have more money, I will make another list and try to improve my car even more. Then I can get into the car show. The following year I hope to get the best in show award.
Eddie Jewell
Good post. So you better make sure before you paint that sucker, the engine and the under carriage components are tip top. It takes time to build a contender, or and back to back winner.
