geraldg
The same thing happened last year with Adrian Peterson. Some team picking 5-10 wants a bonafide top 3 pick to drop to them so they put out an erroneaous report questioning that players health (red flags). If the player drops, they are ready to pounce. I believe the guy broke his leg back in high school or something and these team officials are acting like it happened last week. To a certain extent, Sapp and Vince Young had "red flag" info mysterious surface about them in between the combine and draft. Falcons, don't be fooled by this crap. If the guy is there, take him. Sun Tzu 7
I was thinking the same thing myself.Let's let our doctors take a look at him and we'll figure it out for ourselves.I just hope we're not looking at Chris Long and pass on him because we drafted Anderson last year. Ran-dawg
I agree totally. He was banged up at times but who isn't. The most important stat is he only missed one game in his career and even though banged up played at a very high level.
Peyton
Glenn Dorsey was not a dominant player at all this year because of his back and leg problems, so I'd say it's a legitimate concern.
215FalconsFanatic
Its not mysterious. He has legitaimate health issues. It isnt the fact that he cant play through them because we all seen he could. But at times, it seemed to hamper him (ala the championship game). If you are going to spend a top 5 pick on someone, you dont want them to break down in a year or so. Plus the NFL season is long enough as it is without coming into it 100%. In college, he was about to dominate at 85% but in the NFL he is just another DT. So i would say his situation isnt comparable with Peterson.

And Peterson wasn't considered 100% either. Some of you dudes are clueless and believe everything the media tells you.
geraldg
another good example. Marcus McNeil was a stud OT at Auburn a bonafide first round pick. All of a sudden out of the blue, a report came out saying that he had a deginerative back condition. He slipped to the second round. Two seasons and a Pro-Bowl later, he is considered one of the best Tackles in the league.

If the guy is there, take him.if you have watched Dimitroff work so far you have seen that he says nada about anything.the Man is doing a great job, in the past too many things were said or hinted at. TD has a poker face and a dang good idea about what it takes to buiild a winner. I think he is taking his job very serious and is doing a terrififc job so far.I read where Coach Smitty eluded to a couple of guys at the combine, none of which, to me, sounded like anything but a smoke screen.I love this new attitude.I love this Professional approach that this old beat up franchise has taken. Not to blame Rich but it seems that 100% of what is happening is different and BETTER!This franchise is not ANY of what it was before this new administration.I give credit 1st to Arthur Blank, who made the critical decisions to get the new GM and I credit Mr Blank for caring enough about this franchise to invest in the Falcons even deeper than he had done previously.I credit Thomas Dimitroff for bringing about the change in attitude and personnel. Thanks TD!I credit Coach Smitty for being exactly the guy he is, in 40 years we have dabbled about, now we finally have the management team and coaching in place to reach out goal.I look for the day we see Mr Blank, Mr Dimitroff and Coach Smith holding that silver trophy with the football on top. Pa_Falcon_Fan
I've been saying this since the Combine. The whole thing smacks of someone trying to get Dorsey to fall to them. He missed no games and shows no signs of the injury bothering him at all. I don't see any reason to be concerned.
g-dawg
well, I would say this:NONE OF YOU KNOW FOR SURE - EITHER WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Glen Dorsey has been a "great player".Glen Dorsey dominated first half of this last college seasonGlen Dorsey got "cut block by Auburn" and then was just average for last half of seasonGlen Dorsey dominated the National Championship game against Ohio StateNo one that I have seen on this board questions Glen Dorsey's talent........I hear you guys saying he never missed a college game - played through pain -that's great.Could this be "smoke" and Dorsey not hurt that much? yeah, it couldCould there be Legitimate health concerns regarding tibia and other health issues? yeahDo any of you guys on this board know? NO!!!!!!!!The Falcons doctors will check out Dorsey from head-to-toe if they are interested in the guy. I trust them - I don't trust you guys because(like me) you have no clue!!!!If the 3rd pick overall gets an investment of $30million - I want to know for "dayum sure" that Glen Dorsey is completely healthy - if he's not, then I ain't freakin' taking him when I could take a healthy player......If Dorsey is 100% healthy or very close to that - yeah, he's a talent that needs to be under consideration.........maybe 2nd to only Mr. Jake Long. Draftnut57
I don't know about that , He didn't even lift at the combines and most of the guys who don't work out at least do that. I know it is somke a lot of times but not all smoke this time . Some people may be tring to make it look bigger than it is but still there is some problems. The people on hand where not happy with his 40 time (not important to me for a DT). So by not working out, Dorsey kinda came out on top and as now being lauded as the top DT hands down. You don't even hear Ellis' name now as being a top Five pick. Matt Ryan didn't work out either, but people are still calling him the No.1 QB. So much for working out at the combine.
