Michael Turner

not overly excited about Turner. A 4 yr backup to LT who was a 2nd day draft pick. How is he an upgrade? I think we would have done better drafting a young back especially when the RB position being so deep this year. We could have gotten a similar back in the 3rd or 4th round. The money spent on turner could have went to a OL or DL.

first of all, i sure wouldn't write off Turner because he's a 2nd day pick. there are plenty of mid to late round RBs who have done well... Terrell Davis, Dorsey Levens, Herschel Walker, and even your very own Jamal Anderson.

I think Turner is a fine pick up. I've seen him play a few times, and i've always thought he's starting material. he's only got 228 career carries, so he's relatively fresh. in addition, there's still Norwood to keep Turner fresh in Atlanta. Turner is a rare combination of power and speed, i love watching him run. i think his success is really contingent on what kind of help they get for him on the O-line, because i know SD's was pretty darn solid.
