Warrick Dunn appreciation thread

Recommended Posts

I still see him useful as a Kevin Faulk type but not for his current salary. If he isn't a Falcon next year I just hope he realizes that he was appreciated for his work on and off the field. He was a great slippery runner who ran behind a bad line for years. If we can find a way to make him affordable and keep him that would be great. If not, good luck Warrick with your new team. Two years removed from him best season ever he still has something left.

Falcons agree to terms with former Chargers running back Turner and tight end Ben Hartsock.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. The Atlanta Falcons today agreed to terms with tight end Ben Hartsock, who was an unrestricted free agent from the Tennessee Titans.

Hartsock, 6-4, 265 pounds, is a four-year veteran who was originally selected in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. In 45 career games played, he has totaled 24 receptions for 247 yards (10.3 avg.) and a long catch of 27 yards twice.

Last season with the Tennessee Titans, Hartsock set a career high with 12 receptions for 138 yards. He tallied his career-long reception with a 27-yard grab against Cincinnati in Week 11 and tied the mark four weeks later against the New York Jets. Primarily used as a blocking tight end, Hartsock helped clear the way for a Titans offense that finished last season fifth in the NFL with an average of 131.8 rushing yards per game.

Hartsock spent the 2006 campaign with the Titans and registered six receptions for 68 yards. In his first two seasons in the League with the Colts (2004-2005), the Ohio State alum logged six catches for 41 yards.

;)

Hartsock was a two-year starter for the Ohio State Buckeyes, seeing action in 51 collegiate games. He recorded 58 receptions for 519 yards and five touchdowns.

A native of Chillicothe, Ohio, Hartsock attended Unioto High School where he played tight end, linebacker, running back and kicker earning first-team All-Ohio honors as a senior.

Warrick Dunn, we will always appreciate what you have done for this community, both on and off the field, and your work will always be remembered. You were, and still are, a great roll model for everyone.

If you have to leave this city, to continue your wonderful career, than we will support your disigin. Hopefully one day, you will return to Atlanta, and help this community out, like you always did. Also, petentially becoming a coach on the Atlanta Falcons coaching staff, after you retire from your hall of fame career.

Now, all that's missing from your career, are two things: 1) Super Bowl ring

2) A Community award named after you, just like the Walter Payton Award.

WE WILL MISS YOU WARRICK DUNN, IF YOU LEAVE! PLEASE TRY AND RECONSTRUCT YOUR CONTRACT IN ORDER TO STAY AN ATLANTA FALCON!!!!!

I have never been prouder to be a fan of an Atlanta Falcon than I have been with Warrick Dunn. I wish you nothing but the best with your future team(s) if you don't retire and with your next career if you do.

It was an honor and a privilege watching you represent my team.

Agreed. Warrick Dunn has given his all for this team since 2002, averaging over 1300 yards from scrimmage over his first 5 years here. He has also been a trully great ambassador for the organisation, with his selfless attitude and charity work.

If every player on this team had the heart and work ethic of Warrick Dunn, we'd be a much better organisation for it...

Good Luck Warrick.
