maxatlanta
Official salary cap for the '08 season is $116,729,000.The Vikings adjusted cap for 2008 is $135,161,577.The Lions adjusted cap for 2008 is $111,380,935.The Falcons are one of 5 teams whose cap number is actually lower than the official 08 cap. The good news is that the Lions are our main competition for Turner, and they probably are too strapped for cap space to outdo us.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writ...ures/index.html
DrDetecto
What about the Bears?
maxatlanta
The Bears should have plenty of room under the cap. But, If you were a RB and were trying to decide between playing outdoors in Chicago and playing indoors in Atlanta.... I'm just sayin. That's probably a bigger factor than the weather. And they are much closer to winning a championship than us... the only way we're going to get him IMO is if we pay him more than Chicago. Otherwise I think he would go there.
bigatlfan2
I thought Rich McKay was supposed to be this wiz when it comes to this sort of thing! You would have thought he would be all over this, but yet we are one of the few teams with a negative adjustment! Come on, front office, get your stuff together and take advantage of the rules!Basically, it sounds like you can just keep rolling over your unused cap space to the following year, by creatively writing incentive clauses.GO FALCONS!!! Xnex
The Bears are supposedly going to give Cedrick Benson another year to prove that he can be the man. I don't think they are as interested in Turner as some people think.
