dirty_bird_rison
I would rather hear we were going after players like Faneca or Briggs. Impact players to help jumpstart a team without a winning attitude. We should have been willing to offer a 3rd and 5th for Rogers out of Detroit. While Turner could be a nice pickup for us.....we could also draft a RB in later rounds that could be just as productive. I would rather see the money go somewhere else....we should solidify our offensive and deffensive lines this off-season through the draft and FA, not spend a butt load of money on a player that was highly productive as a back-up on a team with one of the best OL in football. I would 1000000000x's rather see us put the money and effort in to Faneca

dirty_bird_rison
That's great news to me if they are trying to sign both.....more so about Williams though, I am leaning against paying Turner the huge contract....just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Big Duke 6
Im not wild about turner but to say there are backs in the draft who are as good is speculation.Turner would start and do well week 1.
maxatlanta
We are building for 2 years from now moreso than for next year. That is why trading draft picks for Rogers does not make a lot of sense. Same thing with signing Faneca. If the person we're bringing in is past 30, then they are a stop gap between now and the future, so we won't be trading picks or paying big $$$ for them. Turner makes perfect sense because he is a tough, hard runner and that is exactly what Smith and Co. are looking for. He's also young, talented, and battle tested at the NFL level (also lightning fast). We will overpay, but with salaries the way they are he could look like a bargain in a couple years.
