leaferickson
:crying:Question. Since Greg Williams (former DC for Titans an Redskins, and recogonized as one of the best DC's in the NFL) was available why did the Falcons hire Brian what's his named as DC. As another post said the guy only has two years of NFL experience. Was it because he worked for Mike Smith for a year at Jacksonville? I bet guys like Gruden and Sean Payton are licking their chops. Funny thing too, Greg Williams goes to Jacksonville as DC. So much for improving the Falcons defensively!

GEORGIAfan
funny because if we did not pick up VanGorder, Jags were. VanGorder picked atlanta over Jacksonville. IF jack del rio believes he can handle the defense, then i trust he is good, and he did a great job at UGA.

It wasn't until Snyder surprised everyone by hiring Zorn as HC and firing Williams that he became available.
jamnesiac34
Not to mention that we hired VanGorder before Williams was available. You can't go and just fire the guy you just hired. No one will come and work for you after a stunt like that.
leaferickson
I think running a college defense is a bit different than running a professional one. As far as coaches jumping from college to the NFL, ask Daniel Snyder and Arthur Blank. By the way, ask the Georgia Southern folks about their opinion of VanGorder. Erock
You've posted 5 things. Your sole purpose is to just try to ##### everyone off. Why don't you shut, sitback, and wait to see if Van Gorder can be the DC we need. You aren't giving our new GM, nor HC any chance
