SacFalcFan
Here is the depth chart: http://uga.rivals.com/cdepthtext.asp?tekey=26and one article. Georgia released its official spring depth chart Wednesday morning and the biggest change fans will notice takes place on the offensive line. There, redshirt sophomore Chris Davis is listed as the No. 1 center going into spring drills, with junior Vince Vance beginning the spring atop the depth chart at left guard. The rest of the offensive line looks like this:Trinton Sturdivant remains the starter at left tackle, followed by redshirt sophomore Josh Davis and redshirt freshman John Potts.Listed behind Davis at center is redshirt freshman Ben Harden, redshirt sophomore Kevin Perez and early enrollee Ben Jones.Redshirt freshman Tanner Strickland and redshirt sophomore Mickey White are mentioned as backups to Vance at left guard.Redshirt freshman Justin Anderson and Chris Little open the spring as the backups at right guard to sophomore Clint Boling, who started the final 10 games of 2007.Redshirt freshman Kiante Tripp opens the spring as the starting right tackle, in place of the graduated Chester Adams.Roderick Battle and Jeremy Lomax enter spring as the starting defensive ends.Backing up Battle will be the versatile Jarius Wynn, who had nine tackles and nine hurries as a reserve in 2007.Redshirt sophomore Demarcus Dobbs, who played in every game last season primarily on special teams, is back, along with junior Andrew Gully and redshirt freshman Matthew DeGenova are behind Battle on the depth chart, with Michael Lemon, Neland Ball, Justin Houston in the mix behind Lomax at the other defensive end position.All-SEC performer Dannell Ellerbe had a team-best 93 tackles last season, including 12 for loss and 4.5 sacks, and will hold down the defense at Mike linebacker. Part-time starter Marcus Washington, contributed 40 tackles in 2007. Charles White, consistently improved during his redshirt season and the Bulldogs also return special teams ace Benjamin Boyd. Redshirt freshman Devin Hollander will also get a look.At Will linebacker, the Bulldogs are bolstered by the return of Rennie Curran, who ranked fourth on the team in 2007 with 53 tackles, including 13 against Kentucky. After the season, Curran earned Freshman All-America honors. Darryl Gamble had 13 tackles last season, and it was his forced fumble that led to the game-winning field goal against Vanderbilt kick-starting the Bulldogs' seven-game win streak. Akeem Hebron. is back with the program after a year at Georgia Military College and will start out at the Will position. The Bulldogs also have redshirt sophomore Justin Fields.Akeem Dent leads the way for Georgia at Sam linebacker. Dent became a late-season starter in 2007 and finished with 36 tackles. Darius Dewberry, who also has starting experience, will also get a long look while redshirt sophomore Will Sullivan provides additional depth.Asher Allen and Prince Miller enter spring as the starting cornerbacks with sophomore Reshad Jones assuming the starting role at free safety, followed by junior Donavon Baldwin, Andrew Williams and Rowdy Francis.C.J. Byrd is back as the starter at strong safety, followed by Quintin Banks and John Knox.At flanker, Mohamed Massaquoi tops the depth chart after hauling in 32 passes for 491 yards and four touchdowns last season. Backing him up this spring will be Mike Moore, Tony Wilson and Israel Troupe. Moore had a touchdown catch among his three receptions in 2007, while Wilson hauled in 14 passes for 124 yards.Kris Durham leads the split ends, coming off a season in which he caught 11 balls for 169 yards. Seniors Kenneth Harris and Demiko Goodman bring more experience to the rotation. Redshirt freshman Walter Hill and early enrollee Tavarres King will get their chances as well.To no one's surprise, Knowshon Moreno and Caleb King will enter the spring 1-2 at tailback, with sophomore Kalvin Daniels and early enrollees Dontavius Jackson and Richard Samuel battling for the No. 3 tailback spot.Brannan Southerland, Shaun Chapas and Fred Munzenmaier go in 1-2-3 at fullback.Punters Brian Mimbs and Drew Butler will add placekicker to their respective resumes this spring following the graduation of Brandon Coutu.Tripp Chandler, Bruce Figgins and Aron White are 1-2-3 at tight end following NaDerris Ward's decision to transfer to another school. At defensive tackle, Geno Atkins and Jeff Owens are the starters at defensive tackle, with Kade Weston and Corvey Irvin listed as the top two backups. Ricardo Crawford will also see his workload increased. Brandon Wood recently had surgery to repair a torn Achilles, but is expected back at some point in the preseason.Matthew Stafford, Joe Cox and Logan Gray go 1-2-3 on the depth chart at quarterback. The Bulldogs begin spring practice Monday, with the annual G-Day game scheduled for April 5.
