3. Randall Gay (Patriots) - Gay can play both safety and cornerback and rarely lets plays get behind him. He's an LSU product who will tackle and can play inside and outside. None of Gay's physical measurements stand out and he's never been a full-time starter. But he is coming off a career best three-interception season, is only 25, and has No. 2 corner potential.

Prediction: Falcons - 5 years, $30 million ($11 million guaranteed)

I suggested Gay over in the Draft and Free Agency forum, so.... Yeah, he's pretty good and could take the #2 spot with Houston as #1 if we trade Hall. I think the money's a bit high, though, considering Samuel and Hall are probably going to have to settle for less than $10 million / year.

no no ask the Big Poon the money is perfect, you don't even understand contracts :hehe:

Being TD and Smith's first time dealing with FA, I seriously boubt their going to rush into the FA market right away. I think they'll hold off and let other teams set the market. We have so many holes to fill. We need to find the right people for the right price.

yuo pay a player for his performance if he does his job at a certain height in that year, then you can opt up a bonus.so,if i sign a 100mil contract with 30mil guaranteed money then could up to 6 to 7mil in a year but the principle of the bonus money could extend that up to 10 on year.it's the princple of the contract, there are several opt.s that could be made but not every penny stated will not be given.you could spend on a 5yr. contract 30mil but only guarantee 14mil,that way the contract has spread money if in any time frame you opt. to a trade or release.

Ummm. No. Performance based escalators are put into contracts, but not reported as the value of the contract. 5 years, $30 million, with $11 million guaranteed means an $11 million signing bonus and base salaries totalling $19 million over 5 years.

i know but somebody asked about paying him 6mil a year and that's not the case.i know it depend on the opts in the contract that makes it a little less than stated, but we don't know the spread of it exactly?i was just exemplifying that.
