JTFalcon89
3. Randall Gay (Patriots) - Gay can play both safety and cornerback and rarely lets plays get behind him. He's an LSU product who will tackle and can play inside and outside. None of Gay's physical measurements stand out and he's never been a full-time starter. But he is coming off a career best three-interception season, is only 25, and has No. 2 corner potential. Prediction: Falcons - 5 years, $30 million ($11 million guaranteed)http://rotoworld.com/content/features/colu...articleid=29990I am alll for it but its just a prediction I dont know if we even contacted him yet so dont mean we are gonna sign it but I think if we do it will be very smart
formul8or
Maybe we can sign Fagg who messed his leg up at the combine too...but on a serious note...I'd be all for this.

scott hartley
grendel (2/27/2008)I suggested Gay over in the Draft and Free Agency forum, so.... Yeah, he's pretty good and could take the #2 spot with Houston as #1 if we trade Hall. I think the money's a bit high, though, considering Samuel and Hall are probably going to have to settle for less than $10 million / year.no no ask the Big Poon the money is perfect, you don't even understand contracts :hehe:

I think they'll hold off and let other teams set the market. We have so many holes to fill. We need to find the right people for the right price. DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
I like Randall gay and think he'd be a terrific signing (his metrics were run by KC Joyner at ESPn and were very very good...something like a low 5 YPA) but I dont know about 6 million per. Thats a bit steep. Maybe 4.5 but 6?

No. Performance based escalators are put into contracts, but not reported as the value of the contract. 5 years, $30 million, with $11 million guaranteed means an $11 million signing bonus and base salaries totalling $19 million over 5 years.i know but somebody asked about paying him 6mil a year and that's not the case.i know it depend on the opts in the contract that makes it a little less than stated, but we don't know the spread of it exactly?i was just exemplifying that. falconva7
Man, DeAngelo Hall, Chris Houston, and Randall Gay would give us three legitimate corners. That's something we haven't had since...............Ever.

Sun Tzu 7
I have a question. How many players have left the Patriots and had comparable success on other teams?Ty Law? Lawyer Milloy?I am starting to wonder if the system they run, (legit or not), makes their players look better than they are.
