Brookhaven
Atlanta trades down to #7 and picks up Jets 3rd round pick. Ok, so we're getting screwed in the points value, but what effect will it have on the player we draft?Miami: Chris Long, DE, VirginiaSt. Louis: Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio StateNYJ: Darren McFadden, RB, ArkansasOakland: Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC (or Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU)KC: Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College (or Jake Long, OT, Michigan)Atlanta: ?One of the following will be there at the #7 pick: Jake Long, OT, Michigan, Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU, Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State, Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC, Matt Ryan, QB, Boston CollegeOdds are we'll draft the same player at #7 as we would have at #3, and pick up a high 3rd round pick in the process. The Jets would jump on that in a heartbeat as Oakland would almost certainly take McFadden.

Brookhaven
f@lc0n$ (2/27/2008)What about make it.....#3 for #7, 3rd rounder and jonathon vilmaI don't want Vilma under any circumstances. He has a degenerative knee condition. We don't need to tie up money in another middle linebacker with knee problems that will never get better. 1989Fan
word is he (Vilma) is already jogging, and hopes to be doing full drills/workouts in a month. His doctor claims that as long as all goes as planned w this surgery he had, he wont need any follow up procedures. just a FYI.I also dont think the draft will fall like you listed, but your guess is as good as mine come draft day. etherdome
If we trade down with NYJ, the deal would have to include Vilma. I am assuming that Vilma gets a clean bill of health as a prerequisite.
L.Rover
Brookhaven (2/27/2008)The Jets would jump on that in a heartbeat as Oakland would almost certainly take McFadden.Since Oakland re-signed Fargas, many believe that Oakland won't take McFadden, because they have already invested a #1 overall pick on offense last season. I would be willing to be that Oakland takes Sedrick Ellis (assuming he is available and Glenn Dorsey is not) due to Al Davis' USC ties (as well as Lane Kiffin), and because Sapp retired.
