g-dawg
assumes no trade-downs, what would you do? I know this might sound crazy but I think given that scenario I would go with Ryan Clady........what say you?
FalconFan21
I just think McFadden is too good to pass up at #5. So I have to go with DMac. Clady is a good second option from what I've heard, but I have never seen him play so I can't judge him.
Serge Storms
Holy ######, McFadden's still on the board at five? I think I would discover religion.
red2play
Who picked Matt Ryan?
dan minnich
mcfadden easy.
oregonsfan
No brainer for me...McFadden.
ftwfalconsfan
At this point, I'm thinking Clady.
analogk37
In that scenario, I'd call Jerry Jones and ask for his 2 #1's for McFadden.

604hof
McFadden, or Clady would be fine; but, the idea of selecting Ryan scares the heck out of me.Do you really think if we pick at the #5 pick, DT Glenn Dorsey, DE Chris Long, OT Jake Long, DT Sedrick Ellis, and OT Sam Baker all will be gone? Not to mention one of the teams ahead of might pick a QB like Brian Brohm. If we do pick at five we should still be able to pick up one of the linemen I listed. firstngoal
With the top defensive linemen gone, the top qb on the board is the answer.
Return-of-the-Falcon
Easily, it would be matt ryan.Mcfadden has some issues as far as charachter, and i personally dont think he'll be as good in the pros.Clady is not worh a top 5 pick, and with the depth at OT why reach for himMatt Ryan would be the best left. QB is the most important positon in Football
NiteFalcon
Clady? No way, He is not an elite enough prospect to take #5 overall. It has to be mcfadden or a QB here, and because i dont like Matt Ryan very much I would have to say go Mcfadden, reach for Brian Brohm, or trade down. Draftnut57
analogk37 (2/18/2008)In that scenario, I'd call Jerry Jones and ask for his 2 #1's for McFadden. Agree , But Dallas would have to give us their 2nd rd pick also according to the Trade value table ! And being he is getting the last Elite player , that would be a good deal for him. BlacksburgHokie
Not Matt Ryan.
Draftnut57
The H.N.I.C. 2! (2/18/2008)Easily, it would be matt ryan.Mcfadden has some issues as far as charachter, and i personally dont think he'll be as good in the pros.Clady is not worh a top 5 pick, and with the depth at OT why reach for himMatt Ryan would be the best left. QB is the most important positon in Football That's right , and like this post said what would you do if you couldn't trade down , and we just might get in this spot , I would have to take Ryan if this really happened , BC I do think Ryan is the best QB in the draft and we do need one . I think Matt will be a good QB. I really don't want to take a QB with our first that is for sure but If we couldn't trade then I'd have to take him over McFadden . UGA_DAWG46
Tough choice between Clady and Mcfadden. Clady can be the LT we been searching for. McFadden can be a good back. If we go Mcfadden, we can get Chris Williams or Sam Baker in the second. If we go Clady, we can get Kevin Smith, Matt Forte, or Jamal Charles in the third. FalconFan13
For me thats not worst case scenario thats best case scenario. Much Less of a cap hit comapred to a top 3 pick. We are pretty much a lock to get a good player at 5.C. Long, J. Long, Ellis, Dorsey, McFadden1 of those HAS to be there. for much cheaper and we could use all 5 so it doesn't matter
Serge Storms
How can someone take Clady or Ryan here? Clady is a great prospect, but let's be serious, he played in the WAC, I can't honestly mock Jake Long's level of competition, as I have done a great deal and will continue to do, and not look at Clady, who faced an even weaker schedule. Matt Ryan is a bad prospect, he's Charlie Whitehurst with a weaker arm, I would never consider someone with such poor decision-making in college as an immediate starting quarterback. McFadden was amazing in far and away the toughest conference, and he's at a position of as dire need as left tackle or quarterback for us.
