july425
Patriots dreams go south . . . and kids benefitBy Herald wire services Friday, February 15, 2008 - Updated 2d 17h agoHundreds of T-shirts arriving in Nicaragua this week might lead one to believe that the New England Patriots [team stats] didn t blow their perfect season in the Super Bowl.Unfortunately, they did.But several hundred poor Nicaraguan kids will be outfitted in Patriots 19-0 Super Bowl Champs T-shirts and hats, according to the Nica Times of Nicaragua. The National Football League teamed up with the Christian group World Vision to distribute millions of dollars worth of the losing Super Bowl team s licensed Reebok apparel in poor parts of Nicaragua and Romania. World Vision helps us to ensure that no NFL apparel goes to waste, said David Krichavsky, the league s director of community relations. We are pleased to find a good home for clothing by getting it to those who need it most, he told the Nicaraguan paper.
prolikewhoa
Haha!I also heard the Pats had tried to trademark the phrase "19-0" and "19-0 Perfect Season".
capologist
Another example of why the government needs to but out of our lives. Give people more money at the end of month and you'll find out that they'll GIVE more money to those in need!Glad to see old-fashioned charity at work! If the Pats had gone 19-0, not a thing was going to Nicarauga or Romania, only to the retailers.

People with money drive change, that's just a fact besides, I'm sure there were some pre-printed Giants Super Bowl stuff too...

It just wouldn't have gone reported, but all the shirts that said NY Giants Super Bowl Champions would have gone.
