Skip2MyLou13
does anyone have a clue why we cut crumpler instead of tying to trade him or something... hes a good player and we definatly could of got somethign from him
papikaika
This was sorta a surprise to me. I think we could`ve got something for him as well. A team like Seattle needs a TE, a possibility could`ve been to trade him for at least a 3rd or 4th.
1989Fan
I think he was release right away in respect. Now he can pick his destination, and latch on to what team fits him best.
papikaika
Could be the reason as well. But, I thank Crumpler for all the things he`s done for the Falcons.1989fan (2/15/2008)I think he was release right away in respect. Skip2MyLou13
i thank him very much to.. but.. do we let him pick his destination or try to help our needs?
jidady
It's a lot harder to trade a player the rest of the league believes you will cut. It is not impossible as we saw with Mark Brunell a few years ago, but it's rare. The key with Alge is that in addition to other teams knowing we were probably not keeping him, his salary was pretty stiff to take on. I'm very, very disappointed we couldn't get a draft pick for him, but I'm not that surprised, either. I always felt we had a better shot dealing Coleman due to position scarcity. I look forward to seeing our updated depth chart on Monday. It will be like Major League. "This guy's dead."
