Headshot
Wouldn't we have just renegotiated if that was the case?
nes1
Headshot (2/15/2008)Wouldn't we have just renegotiated if that was the case? Not necessarily. There are instances were cutting and resigning is more beneficial than restructuring. I'm not quite sure how it works though. Anyone? Dedsquirrl
I could be wrong, but I think he has to clear waivers for that to happen. And I don't think he will clear waivers with the Jets and Seahawks chomping for a TE.Tim Ruskell may be hot for the Crump. chickenfried
According to just posted Associated Press Article ... Alge was to count for $5.1MM against the salary cap in 2008. That's a big chunk of change for a guy who continues to be plagued with knee problems. I wish Alge the best, he provided for some great times and I'm sure he'll help another team, but for less than $5.1MM.Here's the article link ...nfl.com

84FALCON
if crumpler draws no attention(which is highly unlikely) by the end of the offseason we could sign him again. that is what the titans did with chris brown.
Corsair
By cutting a player, you accelerate the cap hit immediately.By restructuring you push his cap hit over the length of a new contract.Cutting someone to resign them does not make any sense, from a cap standpoint. dawg919
We need to cut that sorry DeAngelo Hall. That's the biggest waste of money.
scott hartley
I want to know why crump wasn't traded? I know we could have gotten something for him, if they are shopping done they must be crazy if they think they can trade him and not alge? what is going on!
