It's a cute 'toon, but seriously....why are conservatives the only people in this country who are constantly smacked around for not changing their core philosophies? That's just horsesh#t.

Will YOU abandon YOUR principles, assuming you have any? (Not you personally Ramen.) Of course not. So why should anyone else?

Isn't politics about negotiations and compromise? Or is politics about making unreasonable, extremist demands and then crying like a baby when you don't get every single little thing you want?

The nutjobs like Hannity and Rush are acting like kids who take their marbles and go home. They have someone with a fairly conservative background who is also very electable, but they're crying like children because McCain doesn't agree with them on every single possible issue.

Nobody is asking them to abandon their principles. People are asking them to act like reasonable adults who are willing to engage others in adult discussions instead of spewing mindless partisan tripe (e.g., "socialist" and "backstabbing liberal") when they don't get their way.

Sean Hannity just said that the five individuals (including Jack Kemp) who wrote a letter endorsing McCain "didn't learn a whole lot" while they were in Reagan's administration. That's the type of childish tantrum that hurts his credibility, and frankly makes his fellow conservatives look bad.

The best thing to come out of the McCain nomination is that talk radio is being exposed as a bunch of frauds and nutjobs. Most people have always understood this, but now even a lot of Republicans and conservatives are starting to see these people for the ratings whores they really are.

Of course a conservative is not going to adapt, nor should they..

but they did up until now........they adapted with each "big government and big spending" move that Bush made. They adapted and continued to make excuses for Bush, which in turn helped the masses(repub sheep) to adapt as well. It's ok for the government to monitor all of your hpone calls and emails....it's ok for a president to not veto any spending bills....it's okay for us to not follow the constitution, etc..... it's been 7 years of adapting for them....but now it seems they have reached a plateau.

You are confusing conservatives with republicans..You are thinking of the liberal republicans aka neo-cons..Bush,McCain,Rudy,Romney,Huckster are all left leaning republicans..

Please keep conservative in context
