Jerry Maguire
If Parcells had accepted the offer, Jeff Ireland would be GM and Tony Sparano would be Head Coach. Both are good candidates, but we know Parcells is the man in charge. Do you think the team would be better off with this scenario, or with the current Dimitroff-Smith regime?I'm actually happy he went to Miami, because I think Smith and Dimitroff bring more long-term stability. goatehall
Anything that would have involved Rich Mckay being involved would be bad. That is probably the reason why Bill did not accept the job b.c he felt blank and Mckay would not let him do his thing.
Bartkowski
You can't count on the Tuna to be there for the long haul. I am glad he went to Miami.
bossFALCON™
we cannot look to the past only to the future. if we look into the past we could say, "we could have gotten brady quinn because he fell right past us" even though we did not know whether vick was guilty or not then. scott24falcs
I've wondered the same thing Cush. Only time will tell, but I'm leaning more towards our situation. I like the hire of Smith, but only time will tell how he fares, but I LOVE the hire of Dimitroff.
dragon75
I'm kinda glad that we are going with a fresh GM and head coach. Our new guys have plenty of upside with good experiance behind them. I feel we are going in a good direction.

I am glad he went to Miami.Yeah, since we're rebuilding, we'll need someone that will stay here through the entire process, not someone that is likely to jump ship. I'm glad with the way things worked out.
ancient raptor
I think that Thomas and Mike are both long term guys. Who knows when Parcells and crew will move on.

falconfoozball
ancient raptor (1/25/2008)I think that Thomas and Mike are both long term guys. Who knows when Parcells and crew will move on.I'm ok w/the way things turned out, but would've preferred Rivera as DC and Hue as OC. Miami is not a bad place to retire or live for that matter. Parcells and crew may be inclined to hang around there a good while. I know they sucked last year, but I bet they win more than 1 game next year. (ok, easy bet) I'm saying I bet they will have a good draft, some good FA signings, and will probably be the best comeback next year. I hope I'm wrong, and it's the Falcons that can do this, but in reality, Miami was not nearly as bad as their record this year. We may have more holes in our roster than they do.
