etherdome
this would be the order I would put the HC candidates, in order of probability: (from most probable to least)1 Leslie Frazier: A very good DC with Tony Dungy lineage. He has been around and has held DC as well as HC positions. He is a quiet-type that commands respect from his players. He drastically improved the Vikings' Defense in only one season. 2 Steve Spagnuolo: An excellent DC in the Johnson mold. He also commands his players' respect with a family-like approach. He is an excellent communicator and gets the most out of his players. 3 Mike Singletary: This is the "thinking out of the box" candidate. His lack of DC experience is compensated by his old school work ethic and organizational skills. He is another candidate that commands respect and is an excellent teacher.4 Mike Smith: Another old school guy. He is quiet and thorough. He has done a fantastic job in Jax and deserves a HC position. He will get a job soon. 5 Kirk Ferentz: He is a college coach with solid NFL experience. Personally, I don't want him, but he is a darkhorse candidate, considering his Pioli connection.6 Ron Rivera: This guy can coach. He may not interview well, but he can deliver. He should have gotten HC offers, but something behind the scenes is holding him back.
Xnex
I think the list is much shorter. I think it comes down to Spags and the DC from Jax. I think Schwartz from Ten. should get more consideration but that seems unlikely.
etherdome
I was very interested in Schwartz until I heard that he is detatched from his players and is more of a numbers guy.
falconstat2dfreak
i think the list is pretty accurate, but why are we going after a defensive minded coach? shouldn't we get a guy is 50 O and 50 D?i think our D is fine but our O well lets say they would disgraced by our cheerleaders:w00t:
etherdome
It comes down to availability. It just happens that this year's crop is heavy with defensive coaches. McDaniels and Garrett are not ready. Hopefully, we can land one of the defensive guys and hire Hue Jackson to run the O. I happen to think that Jackson is a rising star. He could put himself in a very good position if he handles this offense for two to three seasons.
falconstat2dfreak
i understand this years stock is full of DC but we need some one who is even keel. or even 65-35 O driven. imho
boss hogg
i think our D is fine but our O well lets say they would disgraced by our cheerleaders:w00t:The defense was 29th of 32 in total defense and you think "our D is fine"?

Marty fits that mold, as does Reeves. The young HC candidates come from one discipline or another. It doesn't mean that the team will be slanted towards D or O; HC's understand the value of a balanced team. I am still giving Frazier the edge with Spagnuolo as a close second. Nativebird
All good order of preference, IF we couldn't get a proven winner at the HC level...like Marty.
etherdome
Marty has a great record, but his age is a factor. I would prefer to hire a younger guy that is more likely to stay with the team for the long haul. The other major factor against Marty is his need for total control. I don't think that he has the personnel accumen to take that role.

BigDaddyFalcon21
Blank wants a coach like Dungy so if Frazier is like him i'd bet money on him
Paul Smith
How come nobody wants Marty Ball?

Twinblade
Only 2 out of that list I wouldn't mind but sadly none of them will be signed to the falcons.

I suspect that TD is talking to several people around the league and to Frazier's past co-workers. If LF's character and leadership skills check out, I suspect that he will be our next HC.
