D-Ray
It would be a great decision to trade our 1st round pick to the Cowboys so that Jerry Jones can get his boy McFadden for their two first round picks. Here's how the draft for the Falcons would go:1a. Andre Woodson, QB (UK)-Quarterback of the future for Atlanta that we can build the team around. Highly underrated quaterback that has led the SEC in passing during his career. Only problem is that he holds onto the ball too long but can be fixed with NFL coaching.1b. Frank Okam. DT (UT)-Strong force in the middle of the d-line that will take two blockers helping out Jamaal Anderson and John Abraham. A great young duo of Okam and Lewis will solidify the d-line for many years and have an immediate impact.2a. Chris Williams OT (VANDY)-Co-captain of Vanderbilt's football team, Chris Williams simply doesn't allow sacks. His 40 at his size is remarkable. 2b. Kevin Smith RB (UCF)-Workhorse that is highly productive and assume the roll of a true feature back in the ATL. Compared to the great Barry Sanders3a. Brandon Albert OG (UVA)-Branden Albert, in the wake of an outstanding junior campaign, in which he was named to the first-team All-ACC. Albert started as a freshman at Virginia. He was named to the All-ACC Honorable Mention Team in 2006. (6-7 frame and 3rd rated OG in the draft)4a. Marcus Monk WR (ARK)-A massive receiver but probably needs to run in the 4.5s. Had 50 receptions and 11 TDs despite playing with the SEC's worst quarterbacking corps. 4b. Eddie Royal WR/KR (VT)-A return specialist, as you should be able to tell by his exceptional 40. Never had more than 31 receptions in a single season, but could that just be a product of the woeful offense he plays in? 5a. Ben Moffitt MLB (USF)-Future replacement for Mr. Falcon (Brooking)6a. Brandon Coutu (UGA)-Finally drafted a kicker-ENOUGH SAID!7a. Jamal Lewis SS (GT)-Was in the passenger seat of a car accident that killed his friend. He played in a game two days later. That won't go unnoticed. Key undrafted rookie free agent. Marcus Howard DE (UGA)Thoughts??????
goosedaddy70
I don't like the Woodson pick at all. He has bust written all over him.Change the pick to an OLineman and pick up Dennis Dixon in round 4 or 5.That would be a good draft.

Andrew
We have to build around our HC, lets wait on the mock drafts till we get a coach and know what kind of system is going to be run here.
Poster Large Johnson
j105 (1/17/2008)How can you label Woodson a bust then suggest Dixon?I know your not insinuating that Dixon is a bust???Dixon is probably the steal of the draft..I actually like this mock alot because next to Dixon I am all for Woodson.calling Woodson a bust is ********, he is a much better prospect than Brohm Or Choke Ryan.like Dixon, we know how good Woodson can be because he played real defenses in a real conference.Id trade down in the first & go a Ryan Clady/Jonathan Stewart combo, I dont buy into Kevin Smith as our guy, id much rather go Stewart or Felix Jones.we cant take 2 WR's either, E Royal is in my mock as a KR as well.we need to keep a focus on the o-line

He has a huge leg but needs to become more accurate. But we NEED A KICKER.
Jeremy Jones
I could live with this draft.
Falcons Ace
The only QB I would consider drafting this year is Brohm. I would rather wait and use Redman as our stop-gap.
FireDawg85
NO WOODSON AND NO DIXON. Neither will be a good qb in the NFL. need Flacco . I know all you guys are all over the Dixon nut sack but lets be a bit realistic. He needs to just take what he already has and become an Atlanta Brave because that contract is already there. Its so funny because Dixon is no where near the athlete Vick was and what did Vick do for us..... NOTHING!!! so what do you think Dixon would do for us? I like Woodson better than Dixon but this Flacco kid has good potential. Plus Dixon ran a running offense. HE TORE HIS ACL!!!! I tore mine in high school and my knee still gives me problems 5 years later. We have already tried the running QB. Why don't we try to get descent pocket passer, because the last I checked, I think we made it to the super bowl with one. All you guys w/ Dixon.... It's CRAZY

It's CRAZYmost ******** post in a whileDixon is 9 million times the passer Vick was, were not wanting to draft him for his mobility.. That is the icing on top. We want him because he is a phenomenal passer with a rocket arm.Woodson is also a proven winnerJoe Flacco will probably be a good Pro QB but he is not the quality of Dixon or Woodson. loozianafalcon
I am totally against a QB in the first round, especially when there are several to choose from later. If we can't get Jake Long, we'd better look at Chris Long, Dorsey, Ellis to shore up that d-line.
