SacFalcFan Posted January 14, 2008 Share Posted January 14, 2008 Two UT players cited for marijuana possession, recruit in car not charged.KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- Two UT football players were cited for simple possession after a traffic stop in Knoxville Friday night.Knoxville Police spokesperson Darrell DeBusk says officers pulled over a Dodge Magnum at 11th and White for a tag light violation.DeBusk says police smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle as they approached the car. Officers asked for an received consent to search, and allegedly found three marijuana cigars, one of which was half-smoked inside the vehicle.Gerald Jones, 18, and Ahmad Paige, 18 were both charged with simple possession. That's a misdemeanor. Jones was also cited for not wearing a seat belt, and the tag light violation.Also in the vehicle, according to the police report: A third UT football player, and a Muskogee, Oklahoma, teen who told police he was on his official recruiting visit to the University of Tennessee.Those two people were not charged.
