Will C
that isnt a terrible list, billick isnt bad but i would be very sad to see steve the mooch come here. he is sooooooo terrible. as is jim haslet, they both had unbelievable talent on their former teams and were unable to ever produce winning seasons. look what sean peyton did with the saints after haslett left, granted brees came in and bush but who was barring haslett from making such decisions? BigSlick
ghoticov (1/13/2008)If they chose Haslett, I may just become a Pats fan. Ok, well...maybe not but if they choose Haslett, I will take a hostage.I'll be honest. I don't Haslett is that bad. I know his record wasn't very impressive @ New Orleans, but he didn't have much there to coach. He isn't dealing with a ton of talent in St. Louis either. Joe Horn, yeah he was pretty good. Donte Stallworth only did anything we he had R. Moss on the otherside. McAllister was on really playing 3 years due to injuries. In those 3 years the were 1 game over .500. You also forgot they have never had a decent safety or a linebacker that amouted to anything. In St. Louis, of the guys you mentioned he only 2 played on defense. Laroi Glover, come on. Look @ the rosters for the teams playing today and yesterday. Now look @ the New Orleans Saints roster when Haslett was there.
Will C
he can be a defensive coach all he wants but shouldnt that mean that he should have brought in talent on D or be able to coach up the lack of talent he had? either way you look at it, BAD COACH! and mooch is just as bad. both shouldnt be allowed in the NFL. Billick has the experience and has put together great teams that just suffered alot of injuries and still won championships and compete in what has developed to be a very competitive afc east. he played the steelers and bengals twice a year. 604hof
I think McKay has been with Arthur Blank when all these "candidates" were interviewed and/or even considered.I know Arthur Blank said the new GM would select the Head Coach, but McKay still has his two cents and paws in the mix. Even more some since the GM reports to him. I'd feel a lot better far the selection of a HC, the draft selections, and FA signing, if the new GM reported to Mr. Blank.I'd rather have a Ryan or a Singletary as HC instead of any retread ESPN or NFL Network announcer/coach or a recyled fired Head Coach. BigSlick
The New Orlean Saints key players in the year 2004. I will admit.Joe Horn WR - Good player.Donte Stallworth WR - Average WR.Ernie Conwell TE - Average TE.Wayne Gandy LT - Below average LT.Kendyl Jacox LG - Average at best OG.LeCharles Bently C - Great center.Montrae Holland RG - Average OG.Victor Riley RT - Average at best RT. Charles Grant DE - Good DE, not a top 10 however.Darren Howard DE - Good De, not a top 10 however. Will Smith DE - Rookie DE I believe that year.Howard Green DT - Who?Brian Young DT- Average DT. He is ok.Mike McKenzie CB - Pro Bowl corner, very good. Here are the rest of the defense players: Tebucky Jones CB, Ashley Ambrose CB, Jay Bellamy S, Fred Thomas CB, Fakhir Brown CB, Colby Bockwoldt LB, Derrick Rodgers LB, Courtney Watson LB, Orlando Ruff LB, Sedrick Hodge LB.Anybody who thinks this is a team that should have finished better the 8-8 is crazy. Dedsquirrl
Did any of the talking heads call the Dimitroff hiring?I heard a lot of names during this search, but Dimitroff wasn't one of them.I think ol' AB is throwing out smoke screens, false scents, and flat out lies to the media this off season. He may be a little pissed and wary after the nasty Tuna Episode.I bet we ain't interested in a single name mentioned on that list. No...The cowboys was already good before Jason got there and now everybody wants Jason Garrett now cause how good the cowboys doing this season, not knowing he has only been a friggin coach for 3 **** years or so. They rather have a 3 yr nfl coach instead of a coach thats been coaching for 10+....Wow...I hate these new falcon fans.
