Jigga Donkey
http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm League source tells us that the Falcons hired Tom Dimitroff to be the team's General Manager without the benefit of a face-to-face interview.Seriously.Dimitroff will hire the head coach, control the roster, and oversee a nine-figure annual salary cap. And he didn't have an interview. At least not where everyone was in the same room. It's amazing. After hauling a nine-person committee all over the country to interview candidates for head coach and G.M., the guy who got the most important job in the business has never met the ownerWow, can't say that I'm surprised with this bunch of bumbling fools. Guess that's how it rolls in ATL, top draft picks get chosen without being seen in person, the GM light gets picked without a face to face discussion. That's going to go well, have fun. birdweiserrr
Whats your definition of face to face? Dimitroff's face was facing Blank's face for a 3 1/2 hr interview while Dimitroff used a Powerpoint presentation. That is face to face, IMO. Jigga Donkey
This isn't how you conduct business, throughout the entire process the Falcon "brass" has looked foolish. You can turn your head and shoot the messanger but important decisions can't be made in this manner, it shows the type of FO you have. marvinthemartian
I am in business myself and teleconferences are OFTEN used in these situations. The year is 2008, not 1968. We have technology now that has changed how we do things.

This way you can interview more people in a shorter amount of time. Plus, its better for the enviroment, everyone wins.

jayg
so if they hired parcells (or someone you prcer better) by video interview instead of in person you'd be ok with that?To me it makes no difference if it was live video on a 10 ft plasma or in personIf itwas onthe phone only then that would bother me but not live video
